As a former wrestler, here's a little bit of inside knowledge:

Lucha masks are quite possibly the most uncomfortable things on earth.

Kitteh is brave.

Kitty is tough!

How would he fare against El Guapo, hero of Cat Town?

Peter
 |  Feb 02, 2009 at 06:51 AM

My Dante is totally a Lucha Libre kind of guy! He would definitely want the cape too. ;)

I'm not sure, Peter. I know that in a way, each of us has an El Guapo to face. For some, shyness might be their El Guapo. For others, a lack of education might be their El Guapo. For us, El Guapo is a big, dangerous man who wants to kill us. But as sure as my name is Saint Stryfe, the people of teh CO can conquer their own personal El Guapo, who also happens to be *the actual* El Guapo.

Hey wait a minute, are claws allowed in the ring? Seems like el gato has an advantage here.

If you can pin him down and rub your face on his belly for a count of ten you win, but, chanpon, claws are, indeed, allowed.

As I watch the fight, I have only one question on my mind... "Who was that masked fighter, anyway?"

BTW, this photo was on Stuff On My Cat last week. Apparently the kitteh's name is "Zeek."

 |  Feb 02, 2009 at 08:36 AM

Shouldn't "Redondo" be "Redonko" in this case?

Auntie - you are correct. But we got it first :)

El Gato uses a somewhat unorthodox style.

We've been watching a lot of MythBusters lately, and all I can think of is the scene where Adam is wearing tinfoil on his head and says "I wouldn't say Jamie is a evil genius."

Mask or no, that kitteh's about to pounce.

 |  Feb 02, 2009 at 10:40 AM

Mud Bug, you remember Jimmy Snuka? I remember watching with my brother as Miss Elizabeth climbed into the ring and kabonged Honky Tonk Man over the head with his guitar. Good times. ;)

I lived in Redondo Beach, back in the '80s, and I'll have you know that no self-respecting cat would ever be caught dead in that outrageous getup back then. But, times have changed, and I would be tempted to call him "El Gato Brujo". Arriba!
(I do love Cat Town!)
