I want one of those bleening pics for my Georgie to play with! :-)

 |  Jan 17, 2009 at 01:49 PM

Laughed out loud at this, because hubby & I have done the same thing.

Get a copy of CatFancy, tear out the centerfold, cut out with scissors, set up against a contrasting background. Sit back & watch the fun.

It's important that the picture have pointy ears, that helps.....:)

Would kitty do the same thing to a stuffed animal? Or is not realistic looking enough ;)

 |  Jan 17, 2009 at 01:54 PM

Yeah, I had a female cat who wanted that status. Sadly, she wasn't the first (or last) feline to join the household, so she never got her way (on that singular item). She never quite forgave me ...

 |  Jan 17, 2009 at 01:55 PM

That cat's humans are evil to torment the cat like that! Bad humans! BAD!

Look at the round, roli-poliness of that kitty!

 |  Jan 17, 2009 at 02:00 PM

Wow! That cat's pretty talented!

 |  Jan 17, 2009 at 02:01 PM

(As opposed to the flat, 2-dimensionality of the cutout-- anyone remember Flat Cat? She's probably thinking, "If I have to see ONE MORE of these STARVED SUPERMODELS!")

 |  Jan 17, 2009 at 02:02 PM

Hehehehe. Kitty Punching bag.

 |  Jan 17, 2009 at 02:09 PM

Hah! I saw this a couple of weeks ago, I should have sent it in.

My cat attacks stuffed cats of all sizes. Especially the little miniature ones, she loves to tear into a good tiny cat effigy. I should try her with a picture and see what she does.

 |  Jan 17, 2009 at 02:11 PM

That cat's a badass!
Too funny!

 |  Jan 17, 2009 at 02:16 PM

My cats play with stuffed animals - cat-shaped or not. Particularly fond of my Totoro and stuffed monkey, though they have their own teddy bear, beanie cow, and even Ugly Doll.

 |  Jan 17, 2009 at 02:28 PM

She clearly doesn't not want shallow and superficial companionship...

 |  Jan 17, 2009 at 02:36 PM

Crazy kitty. :O

I have that EXACT table! Cool!

 |  Jan 17, 2009 at 02:37 PM

Ha ha! That cat is a brat! And fat! :)

[but not flat - Ed.]

 |  Jan 17, 2009 at 02:43 PM

Sing it with me:
Kitty is Kung Fu fighting
She's got paws of lightening...

 |  Jan 17, 2009 at 02:57 PM

After the sofa bam, his fat little belly wobbles, haha.

 |  Jan 17, 2009 at 02:59 PM

This video needs those "Pam" "Boff" captions like on the old Batman show.

 |  Jan 17, 2009 at 03:19 PM

Bwahaha! I think everyone has that folding table, it's like $8 at Walmart.

 |  Jan 17, 2009 at 03:30 PM

My fiance's parents had a pair of cats that freaked out if I wore one of those headbands with kitty ears on it. I discovered that one Halloween and nearly bust a gut laughing. Everything would be fine - the moment I put on the headband their eyes would bug out and they would book it to the other room.

 |  Jan 17, 2009 at 03:31 PM

Becca, yes! I have an antisocial territorial cat like this one. One day I brought home a large realistic stuffed animal of a leopard and left it on the sofa. Kitty beat the bejeebers out of it, and it was three times her size! I was proud of her bravery. Too bad I didn't have a video camera, or she too could be a Youtube star. :-)

 |  Jan 17, 2009 at 03:38 PM

OK, wow, it's crazy, it's bitter and has fatalistic violence. Must be a photo of her ex boyfriend.

 |  Jan 17, 2009 at 04:23 PM

A friend had a cat that would attack my daughter's Pound Purry (that's Purry, NOT Puppy). It really didn't look that much like a cat.

 |  Jan 17, 2009 at 04:32 PM

Oh, and doves DO NOT like when humans wear wings! We had a friend come over for Halloween with angel wings on. Had to cover up the dove cage, it freaked out every time it saw the hooman with wings!

Isn't this a tad stressful for the kitty? Wouldn't kitty prefer its own non-threatening toy ?

 |  Jan 17, 2009 at 06:11 PM

Ninja kitteh! I think it enjoys the challenge, Vic. "There is something on the table. I shall knock it onto the floor."

 |  Jan 17, 2009 at 06:35 PM

That is some SERIOUS smackdown.

 |  Jan 17, 2009 at 06:51 PM

LOL@pyrit...then she drug the photo into the basement and threw darts at it...oh no wait, that was me! Never mind.

 |  Jan 17, 2009 at 06:53 PM

hahaha did you see the air time on some of them?

 |  Jan 17, 2009 at 08:13 PM

Hrm...aggression issues much?? haha

 |  Jan 17, 2009 at 08:30 PM

Vic, I don't really think so, aggression is in their predator nature. At least they always win against such stationary foes! It probably makes them feel like the Top Cat. There's nothing my kitty loves as much as being angry, I swear she even hisses at her catnip mouse. :)

 |  Jan 17, 2009 at 09:19 PM

That's one chunkeh kitteh. Beating the crap out of cat pix is good exercise. But what unusual, pretty markings. Like a tabby cow.

 |  Jan 17, 2009 at 09:24 PM

Wow, don't know if I'd want to see what it would do to an actual cat.

 |  Jan 17, 2009 at 09:26 PM

He hates the picture of the cat! Stay away from the picture of the cat!

 |  Jan 17, 2009 at 10:15 PM

LOL Navin!!! Say hi to s*%$head for me!!!

 |  Jan 18, 2009 at 02:06 AM

HAHAHAHA! This is too funny.

@pyrit - I think you may be right... this is just target practice ;)

 |  Jan 18, 2009 at 02:56 AM

My cat will not brook competition either. I brought home a stuffed cat someone had given me and put it on the bed, she hissed and made me put it in the corner on the floor. She's ok with it being on the floor as long as it's not on HER bed.

 |  Jan 18, 2009 at 05:46 AM

What in the world is that cutout made out of? It looks like really thin, brittle styrofoam or something, because the kitteh just punched right through it karate-styles.

 |  Jan 18, 2009 at 06:02 AM

T., That's foamboard. You can find it at craft stores.

I looks like a puzzle of some sort, the way it breaks up like that.

I noticed that -- like, a puzzle with only three pieces.

 |  Jan 18, 2009 at 07:43 AM

hahaha, I saw this when they showed it on X Play on G4, lol. Love it!

 |  Jan 18, 2009 at 12:22 PM

Speaking of animals not appreciating it when you are wearing something "unusual:" I had a grey-cheeked parakeet that would run after me screaming if he saw me with a bath towel on my head. Srsly, little 2" tall bird wanted to kill the creature walking by with the "giant head!"

 |  Jan 18, 2009 at 12:49 PM

uh, high strung?? hahaha

 |  Jan 18, 2009 at 08:29 PM

I have a cat that would siy t in the window and 'call' the birds- this weird little chuckling clicking noise- the nirds knew she couldn;t get them, and she knew it, too grrumble clickety, clattety, grrbirrds!

 |  Jan 19, 2009 at 02:24 PM
