This House Looks So Familiar...

I can't quite put my finger on it, but I just know I've seen this house before ...

... oh yeah, now I remember:

P.S. The human laugh is the icing on the delish upside-down kitteh cake.

 |  Jan 15, 2009 at 08:42 AM

M.C. Escher in the house! Woot! That cat is an acrobat!

 |  Jan 15, 2009 at 08:48 AM

ha! i love this kitty!

 |  Jan 15, 2009 at 08:49 AM

Cats defy convention.

Kitty is training for Rocky MCMXLVIII...

 |  Jan 15, 2009 at 08:55 AM

Oh, the perfect jungle gym for kittehs. Wish I could put that up for them, but I live in an apaht-ment. Nothing like the Escher drawing.

 |  Jan 15, 2009 at 08:58 AM

Escher, that's my mazey, no sir I don't mean crazy!

 |  Jan 15, 2009 at 08:58 AM

Its eshercat. Able to climb the bottoms of stairways in a single bound!

 |  Jan 15, 2009 at 09:16 AM

Sure, it's all fun until one dark, spooky night, you're going down the stairs and something reaches out and grabs you, making you pee in your jammies.

['specially if we're talking about YOUR cats... - Ed.]

 |  Jan 15, 2009 at 09:19 AM

 |  Jan 15, 2009 at 09:22 AM

Same kitten, discovering the underside of a table.

 |  Jan 15, 2009 at 09:29 AM

amazing upper body strength!
i used to love the 'stairs' picture when i was younger, now it just kinda makes me nauseous

 |  Jan 15, 2009 at 09:37 AM

Wackadoodle cat!

 |  Jan 15, 2009 at 09:43 AM

Hmm, just checked the video notes over at YouTube, and I guess I ain't the only one who sees David Bowie in this. Oh, and Jennifer Connelly, when she was but wee.

 |  Jan 15, 2009 at 09:49 AM

Gravity-defying cat defies gravity...

Well, there's gotta be at least one nonconformist in the bunch. Nothing like climbing up the bottom of the staircase!

 |  Jan 15, 2009 at 09:55 AM

I am so confused.

 |  Jan 15, 2009 at 09:57 AM

AAIIIEEE - this kitten looks like Yitzy - back when he was little & did silly kitten things. Fun videos.

 |  Jan 15, 2009 at 10:02 AM

@Redzilla - my crazy cat who hated the wire hanger, had a habit of doing sneak attacks at night. I was living in a house then, and when bedtime rolled around, I would turn off all the lights and head upstairs. Without fail, my cat would come barreling out of nowhere as I started to climb the stairs, and grab onto my calves. He wouldn't do anything but hang on to your calves, but if you ignored him and tried to walk up anyway, he would nibble you.

 |  Jan 15, 2009 at 10:04 AM

I'm having one of those moments when I wish I were Dr. Doolittle. Wanna ask, "why?"

 |  Jan 15, 2009 at 10:22 AM

Awesome! :D

@ chanpon - my cat, Tika (RIP), used to smack me in the forehead as I walked past the fridge (the restroom was off the kitchen) on my 3am potty-trots...scared the bejeebers outta me every time LOL

 |  Jan 15, 2009 at 10:35 AM

Thank you!!! I love Escher's works!

 |  Jan 15, 2009 at 10:42 AM

My video skills will never be Cute Overload quality, but I would like to share my baby kitteh with everyone!

 |  Jan 15, 2009 at 10:56 AM

@LibrarianJessica - Because I can...

besides, why not?

 |  Jan 15, 2009 at 10:59 AM

Aww... firepikachu, Percy is a doll! What fun.

By the way, have you ever let Percy play with an ice cube on the kitchen floor? I used to do that with our kittens and they had a blast! Kitteh hockey!

 |  Jan 15, 2009 at 11:06 AM

Sounds like a fun idea!
I just had to share him with others. I'm 24 and he is my first baby! His ruff keeps getting longer and I could snorgle him all day!

 |  Jan 15, 2009 at 11:10 AM

@Theo - Yes! Labyrinth reference!

 |  Jan 15, 2009 at 11:11 AM

So, there's Ceiling Cat, there's Basement Cat, and now, for the Nonconformists, we have Stairs Cat.
(Nonconformist Cat sez no to dogma, climbs Stairway to Shiva, sings I Did It My Way, OK, OK.)

 |  Jan 15, 2009 at 11:14 AM

Labyrinth..yay! "You have no power over me!" {not exactly true as kitties do have a tremendous power over me}

LibrarianJessica...."It's more fun this way!"

 |  Jan 15, 2009 at 11:24 AM

Kitteh has obviously been to Stealth Bootcamp, and was showing just one of his maneuvers for his undercover work. Or -- the catnip really worked overtime!

 |  Jan 15, 2009 at 11:32 AM

the laugh at the end made it even better! what a talented kitty!

 |  Jan 15, 2009 at 11:58 AM

@firepikachu: Such a cutie!!!!!! And I thought it was a great job on the video!

Heh... Proof that cats are not subject to the same laws of physics that we mere mortals are!
spb - I put ice cubes in the cats' water bowl and then sit back and watch Decibel try to get the "white goldfish" without getting his paws wet. Too funny!

 |  Jan 15, 2009 at 12:19 PM

sbp & Noelle - Were it my feline, the answer would probably be: "To once again prove that cats are cooler than humans."

 |  Jan 15, 2009 at 02:36 PM

I grant your David Bowie, but wouldn't the Mission IMpossible theme song be a better addition to this vid?

 |  Jan 15, 2009 at 02:52 PM

Heh, that'd be Lalo Schifrin. Certainly.

 |  Jan 15, 2009 at 03:04 PM

Cute Overload AND a Labyrinth reference? Sheesh, the cool just doesn't stop! Although it reminds me how crazy she was to pick the screaming kid over David Bowie. A headscratcher to this day.

[She realized that the Goblin King was her own runaway imagination, while family is real. It's a coming-of-age Muppet movie... - Ed.]

 |  Jan 15, 2009 at 05:48 PM

LOL at Percy, firepikachu. I kept waiting for his kitteh bukkit to slide off the back of the couch.

 |  Jan 15, 2009 at 06:46 PM

"...and she's climbing a stairway to heaven..." *guitar riff*

 |  Jan 15, 2009 at 07:15 PM

Redzilla ROFL "something reaches out and grabs you"

 |  Jan 15, 2009 at 07:18 PM

Ahhh that picture was on my calendar in 2008! I didn't know anyone else knew about that!

 |  Jan 15, 2009 at 09:14 PM

Naw, I'd still ditch the fam for Bowie. :)

 |  Jan 15, 2009 at 09:15 PM

Thanks everyone who enjoyed watching my baby! Percy is my life...I'm a total cat lady.

As for the other posts, Bowie is a FAVORITE of mine!! I had my dorm room 3 years ago covered with his posters. Born in 1985, but should have been a 70's girl.

 |  Jan 15, 2009 at 10:05 PM

Grabbity? I dun't need no steenkin' grabbity.

 |  Jan 15, 2009 at 11:38 PM

binky-mama-oh, yes *snerk*

Now, are we discussing "luurkensproinging" behavior? Let's review for our new Peeps! That is when...

Thank the Ceiling Cat Killer does not do that, but she gets the first prize for getting in the way when it is the most rushed around here. A true speed bump.

I love the kitteh hanging by his/her claws!
