The Year In Cute: The Meeting Will Come To Disorder

Gentlemen, 2008 was a banner year for the Legion of Evil.  Our operatives scowled, glared, sneered, grimaced, glowered, frowned, harrumphed upon and generally disapproved of more things than at any time in the storied history of our secret fraternity.  And now, it gives me great displeasure to present the 2008 Evil Awards:

No, Mr. Bun -- I expect you to DIE!

Best Serial Disapprover: Phineas Wayne Boggs, currently at large in the Philadelphia area;

Good evening, Clarice ...

Best Tough Guy: Vinnie "The Glare" Torino, leader of the East Side Scowlers;

Ah yoo tawkin' ta me? I said, AH YOO TAWKIN' TA ME?!
New Puppy, originally uploaded by ETRONCOSO.

Best Scheming: Mack E. Yavelli, of Florence, Italy;

I'm hatching a new plan even as we speak!

Most Disturbing: Flarxle "Lips" Xeeglatz, from the planet Orgulon VI

PEOPLE-OF-EARTH-YOU-ARE-MY-SLAVES-IT-IS-USELESS-TO-RESIST

Dishonorable Mention: Art D., Jennifer N., Lori W., Mahala K., and Lisa S. Photo credit for disapproving Bun: (I'm just not sure what to say......, by Carly & Art.)

I love awards season! This is SO much more entertaining than the Golden Globes (and 19874 times more legitimate!)

Black kitty looks exactly like one of our little boys down to the teeny white napkin under his chin. And he is a schemer, continually hatching plans to force me to snuggle him. Somehow the schemes always work...

That cat will always make me laugh!

Well, if Xeeglatz isn't 'shopped, those are the most humanoid leeps on a crustacean I've ever hoped never to see. What, may I ask is that lip COLOR, though? Can't find it in the Avon catalog!

Also, puppy mr tough guy doesn't look so much "tough" as shy, or possibly in "trouble." Wasn't me, he/she says... Oh, OK, all is forgiven... puppy hugs!! puppy hugs!!

Boomer, it looks like the fire engine red lipstick my Aunt Dutch used to wear..

Oh, and it looks like the Pro-to-go Cherry Glisten might be close for the fish lips.

Yeah, Avon.I sells it.

Okay, if "Lips" Xeeglatz is the most disturbing, and Mack (the pupster) is the most scheming, what category did the black kitteh win?

victoreia
 |  Jan 04, 2009 at 12:59 PM

That is an extremely disapproving bun.

Derby? I thought you were Cinnamon! I'm sure I'll be disapproved of by both of you, now. [slinks away meekly]

Tough times call for touch att-i-tudes, and sometimes cat-i-tudes. Brilliant.
I thought the bunneh was Cinnamon, too, there is another out there!

Ah...I see you've laid down the gauntlet of cute. Clever and sneaky move. Well, I accept your challenge! I will endure the dangerous and extreme levels of cuteness and scroll through each and every photo!

Hah! Your move.

I think Xeeglatz is not so much disapproving of us, it's just that he's really, really miffed over the bad lip collagen implants.

You really should warn a body, first. I saw that disapproving bun, and I had to step back from the computer. Srsly.

And if the pup is "The Glare," then the kitteh is missin' a caption.

DISAPPROVER is hilarious!!

TOUGH GUY? I don't buy it for a minute. :)

Yep. There's no kitteh caption.

The second kitteh DOES NOT have a caption. SOMEONE ADD A CAPTION!!!!!

 |  Jan 04, 2009 at 06:30 PM

the second black kitteh is my by 'beeyad' kitteh, Oreo. Found in my daughter's Easter basket. :) Oreo is very honored to be re-posted in the Evil Awards. heh heh heh...

Thanks for the tutorial, Theo! LOL! I will have to study up, as the differences are still a little fuzzy. (Or furry, I guess.)

Cinnamon seems more harrumphy, though, with more of the look of a grumpy old British dude. Sort of... Churchillian.

 |  Jan 04, 2009 at 07:44 PM

To me, Cinnamon looks like the faithful and
respectable butler who has opened the door to find a basket full of caroling
opossums expecting him to bring figgy pudding...

 |  Jan 04, 2009 at 08:32 PM

Yay Oreo! Is he waiting to entrap the Easter Bunny? or just wanting to get his pawsies on some Peeps?

Love black kitties. They're quite devious...mine's working his way into the kitchen cabinets as I type...

I think I got it; it's just tricky. The captions are on top, & lots of folks are still looking for them below out of habit. But yes, they're all there.

julie
 |  Jan 04, 2009 at 10:23 PM

Julie -- it IS tricky. The captions switch from below to above, and skip right over Lechter Kitty. My advice? Go ahead and ask him for a word or two, but expect some significant quid-pro-quo.

Oh, and ask *politely*.
