"It started like this..."

"I left the room, and shortly thereafter, returned to find this..."

Then, the inevitable:

"I asked them if they thought they were auditioning for a calendar."

Well, duh.

Excellent, EXCELLENT work, Victoria R.  See this and other kitteh stories over at her blog.

Awwwwww! Snorglepusses! This will last about 1 nap and then it's back to bunnehkickingks and (play)bities!
Query: Should these kittehs be considering boxhabs? If yes, should they boxhabs together or separately? What sayeth the Boxhab Guru?

 |  Sep 29, 2008 at 05:35 AM

That is just so lovely. Yes, I know it doesn't always stay like that, but the instinct to cuddle is truly universal.

 |  Sep 29, 2008 at 05:46 AM

Awwww, shweet. Didja notice how tortie kitteh reposished to make room for ornj kitteh? My kittehs never ever snorgle. :(

 |  Sep 29, 2008 at 05:53 AM

Is there room for me in the box too?

 |  Sep 29, 2008 at 05:57 AM

This is TOO MUCH!!!
*THUD* (loud noise as I fall to the floor)
Wait - okay, I've picked myself up before anyone passes by here in the office.
Why don't my cats do things like that? That's just too sweet for words!

 |  Sep 29, 2008 at 06:05 AM

Codependent box users need an intervention! These are beautiful sweet photos, a lovely snorgle for a Monday morning.

 |  Sep 29, 2008 at 06:08 AM

Two cats, one box.

 |  Sep 29, 2008 at 06:13 AM

OMG...this is too sweet! I love kittehs that love on each other.

 |  Sep 29, 2008 at 06:13 AM

3catnight - yours prolly do this, but are much too fast to be caught. I love walking in when 2 of mine are doing this to see which one can get out of the room faster. It's as if they are saying, you saw nothing...and you can't prove it.

 |  Sep 29, 2008 at 06:29 AM

is there an internet abbreviaiton for
"went aaaaw out loud"?

like awol?

 |  Sep 29, 2008 at 06:30 AM

Ahhhhh. That's how we need to start our Mondays - with a contact cute high. Beautiful kitties and fine photosnappin'.

 |  Sep 29, 2008 at 06:40 AM

Bestest Friends FURREVERRR!!

How sweet;)

 |  Sep 29, 2008 at 06:41 AM

Lotsa things on this site make me go splodey, but this one made me go melty. Either way, it's floor puddlage.

@ Fifi: I love "awol"! I may have to adopt that one!

LOL @ Theo. It's getting to the point that I hope someone uses the dreaded "f-word" because your edits make me snort.

[ *sigh* - Ed.]

 |  Sep 29, 2008 at 06:57 AM

I love the diluted kittehs! It's funny, I never even knew they existed before this year and now there is a stray torti, calico, and tabby where I live - all diluted. They're SO CUTE, I love 'em!

You know, in that second picture, they're expressions are saying "If you don't leave in about 5 seconds, you're going to see some kitty pron!"

 |  Sep 29, 2008 at 06:58 AM

omg, too fricking adorable! what kind of cats are they? their faces remind me of a siamese (the new kind--not the applehead traditional)

 |  Sep 29, 2008 at 07:07 AM

what precious angels!!! they are so in loooooove!

 |  Sep 29, 2008 at 07:09 AM

Ew! No more references to kitty porn. Not because I'm a prude, but because these two are brother and sister. Otherwise, unlike the 'nuffs, I say be as crazy as you want to be! : )

What do you say? It's only another $25 in checked bag fees to take us with you. We can cuddle up and fit in one suitcase! See..

 |  Sep 29, 2008 at 07:13 AM

Totally adorable! I love it! :)

 |  Sep 29, 2008 at 07:40 AM

These two are now my desktop wallpaper. :)

 |  Sep 29, 2008 at 07:46 AM

Nothing can be said but "awwwwwwwww!"

 |  Sep 29, 2008 at 07:48 AM

Knock-down, drag-out fight in 3... 2... 1...

But for the moment, aww.

 |  Sep 29, 2008 at 08:02 AM

 |  Sep 29, 2008 at 08:09 AM

i love it! i love the IBKC as well! :D

 |  Sep 29, 2008 at 08:10 AM

I want to be the cheese in this kitty sandwich, please.

 |  Sep 29, 2008 at 08:20 AM

Awwwwesome pictures. I really, really love the last one in particular, with the eyes closed and all cuddled up, that is pure love!

Holy Cuteness
 |  Sep 29, 2008 at 08:21 AM

Those pics belongs to Victoria not Helen.

they r from her blog about teh kittehs!

 |  Sep 29, 2008 at 08:32 AM

And Victoria is not happy. See the link to her blog.

[Noted. I've emailed her and left a comment on her blog post... - Ed.]

 |  Sep 29, 2008 at 08:36 AM

I'll bet that Victoria would appreciate it if you would attribute the words accompanying the pictures to her, rather than "Helen," as well. They are a very close paraphrase of her post, and simply changing it to "Victoria said" and "Victoria asked" should go a long way to smooth things over, as it would be accurate attribution.

[Possibly, but I'd rather not speculate; waiting to hear back from her in person... - Ed.]

I hope this post can stay here, it is adorable!

 |  Sep 29, 2008 at 09:02 AM

hmm. still says helens name in the comment-os'
i know you're workin on it...

anywho! adorable! i used to have brother and sister kittehs that were great snugglers just like this.
and and Victoria, I love the vintage(i think) faux-straw case, hope they dont break it!

 |  Sep 29, 2008 at 09:05 AM

That makes sense. Feel free to simply delete my blather.

 |  Sep 29, 2008 at 09:06 AM

Brook -- nah, it's cool.

 |  Sep 29, 2008 at 09:08 AM

and that's not a bed, is it? Because you sure could bounce a quarter off of it!

Agnes and Henry, very British kittehs! Have a spot of tea will you Agnes dear? Why thank you Henry, and would you like a hob nob??

 |  Sep 29, 2008 at 09:14 AM

@fifi: How about arol? "awwwed right out loud"

Those are two very adorable kitties. I love the expression in the third picture.

 |  Sep 29, 2008 at 09:20 AM

[Possibly, but I'd rather not speculate; waiting to hear back from her in person... - Ed.]

Not cool, not cool. When talking about other people's work, it is opt-in, not opt-out. Pics should be removed until you have her explicit permission to use them, especially since you claim right to use the photos as you will once you've accepted them (see your very own Cute Overload Submissions Contract).

 |  Sep 29, 2008 at 09:30 AM

Ellen, I've already heard back from Victoria R. & made edits accordingly. It's only not cool to whoever "Helen" is, and I'm not terribly concerned, since she's hardly the wronged party.

 |  Sep 29, 2008 at 09:37 AM

(also, of course, we do keep up-to-date records about the permissions we have for submitted material; in this case, obviously we'd have to get written permission *separately* before re-using Victoria's images on, just for example, the 2010 calendar)

 |  Sep 29, 2008 at 09:43 AM

It would almost be mercy if CO pulled this post; I don't think I was made to withstand this much cute.

although t'is nice to go to bed now thinking sweet kitteh dreams....

 |  Sep 29, 2008 at 09:54 AM

My Meezers did this all the time.

like so- http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v398/Pyrbaby/Pets/Aria%20and%20Azure/love-1.jpg

And it was never a fleeting thing...they were joined at the hip, and ALWAYS snorgled together.

 |  Sep 29, 2008 at 10:12 AM

that last pic should be banned by dentists and dietitians everywhere.

 |  Sep 29, 2008 at 10:15 AM

Oh I hope Victoria lets them stay! They are so gorgeous!

 |  Sep 29, 2008 at 10:17 AM

I did not realize there were different and quite distinct levels of "being ded" from the cuteness but i am dedder now that I have ever been before. The cuteness has killed me to Nth degree dead.

 |  Sep 29, 2008 at 10:19 AM

except maybe the ostrich... that killed me too, which means now i'm alive again :D

 |  Sep 29, 2008 at 10:31 AM

Sometimes, for a brief, fleeting instant, this happens at my house. It's like seeing a unicorn.

 |  Sep 29, 2008 at 10:36 AM

OMG that's so sweet! Awww...babies....we had two cats who would snorgle like that all the time. soooooo cute!!!!

 |  Sep 29, 2008 at 10:59 AM

Why in a lifetime of having cats, have I never experienced this nirvana kitty scene?

The closest I come is seeing my husband of 10 years and my cat of 14 years FINALLY sitting on the couch together. It's been 10 years. Course they are both scooched up at opposite ends of the couch, but it still counts for me.

 |  Sep 29, 2008 at 11:00 AM

holy moly, that is just too freaking prosh. I've only printed out 2 CO pics in my whole CO life - those two owls snorgling, and these two.

 |  Sep 29, 2008 at 11:02 AM

I need that suitcase for my kitty!

 |  Sep 29, 2008 at 11:22 AM

How does this even happen? My cats would spend maybe an hour in the remote proximity without turning to fisticuffs.
