Puppy Bowl IV + Kitteh Half-Time Show

It's BACK, People. Puppy Bowl IV is tomorrow, Feb 3 at 3PM e/p on Animal Planet with even MORE MAYHEM than ever before. It's in HD for stunning clarity AND there is a waterbowl cam! Check out the line up.

The redonk Kitteh Half-Time show is also making a return, and promises that battling over toy mouses will make you forget all about Tom Petty. [Thwap thwap thwap] Here is the intro from last year;

Thanks, CSO...

Aww. I wanna go home (where they actually HAVE Animal Planet - I'm too poor) just so I can see the expression on my Dad's face when I wrench the remote out of his hands to watch the puppies.

Also: PUPPY TAILGATE PARTY! Why wasn't I invited?

I think the tail gate party is my favorite.

I love, love, love the Puppy Bowl! I look forward to it every year.

 |  Feb 02, 2008 at 04:08 PM

Wow, where have I been the last four years? I'm gonna make my friends watch this instead of the game.....

 |  Feb 02, 2008 at 05:00 PM

Did you see Finnegan. He's the puppy I am rooting for. Go puppies go.

 |  Feb 02, 2008 at 05:14 PM

o that's right, thanks for reminding me! This will be my third year watching Puppy Bowl instead of Stupid Bowl.

 |  Feb 02, 2008 at 05:39 PM

I can't wait!!!!

 |  Feb 02, 2008 at 07:31 PM

I live for this show. Whoever came up with this idea should get an honorary Ph.D in Cute-ology.
This year,we are doing our own Puppy Bowl tailgate party. In case someone has already started a betting pool, my money is on the Jack Russells. Go Team Russells!!!!!!!!

 |  Feb 02, 2008 at 07:53 PM

Game? What game, berthaslave?
It's all about the puppehs!

 |  Feb 02, 2008 at 08:09 PM

I ALREADY have it set to record. In hi-def, even.

Puppehs and Kittehs all floofy in wide screen. Eeeee!

Puppeh Bowl airs like 3 times tomorrow so you can watch it as well as the game and not upset the sports fans.

 |  Feb 02, 2008 at 08:36 PM

When I click on the link for the line up I get bupkis! No pic whatsoever! Anyone else?

 |  Feb 02, 2008 at 09:00 PM

My best friend is coming over tomorrow to watch Puppy bowl with me! MUST catch the kitty half time show.

I really need to get the DVDs. Wouldn't that be the best cure for a bad day? Come home and watch a couple hours of puppies and kitties being cute.

 |  Feb 02, 2008 at 09:05 PM

Very cute, I've watched parts of it the last few years. My question is, what are the rules, how does a puppy go about actually winning the puppy bowl?

I found a sneak peak at the show on youtube:

it was shot with a shaky digicam in the control room by one of the puppy owners, haha.

That was really cool! What proud parents!

RED DOG, just came across your video on YouTube as I was looking at Puppy Bowl stuff. Abbigale is adorable! Congrats on getting her to be part of this. :)

 |  Feb 02, 2008 at 10:59 PM

One of my former colleagues went to work for Discovery - they own Animal Planet and both are produced out of their Silver Spring, MD headquarters. Puppy Bowl was done on a lark (after all, why waste expensive programming competing with the Super Bowl?), and it was completely shocking to them to discover that it was their most-watched show ever (seriously, EVER). It's also their most popular DVD (did you know you could own Puppy Bowl for yourself for a mere $10? Knowing a good thing when they saw it, of course, they'll continue to produce it as long as the audience exists.

Thanks Yankeebird!

She is a pistol! That day they filmed she was all over the place, they had her on the set at least 80% of the time. She does some wacky stuff and got a lot of camera time.

Thanks again! VOTE ABBI!! MVP

 |  Feb 03, 2008 at 05:54 AM

Aw... I finally have Animal Planet, and it's not on!! Stupid AP in Denmark :-(

 |  Feb 04, 2008 at 05:20 AM

once again they have spoiled the Puppy Bowl for my dogs . . . who would watch it far longer if it had SOUND - the dog sound, not the canned cheering. We wanna hear the BARK! BARK!

 |  Feb 04, 2008 at 06:09 AM

Now I know what to say if my husband asks again what I want for Valentine's Day - a bunny water bowl cam!

 |  Feb 04, 2008 at 11:16 AM

I always try to get my household to watch this instead of football but no is excited except me! I can't even watch it during football commercials 'cuz they want to watch those too! Grrr...
