Then we have "Scotteh" the kitteh who's owners didn't even NOTICE he had a heart-shaped fur patch until they saw the article on the Chihuahua pup above... [Nice work, Sender-Inner Amy S.]

Whoa that pup is beyond belief adorable.

Maybe the doctors of the future can isolate the furry heart gene and breed a whole range of loveable love-marked pets...maybe they already have in Japan...

Heart facial markings are actually pretty common on some breeds of cows. We saw a few a year. So common, you'd hardly need to go to the trouble to paint one on. The vast majority of calves are born in January and February, so a valentine calf isn't unusual, either. Knowing this doesn't kill teh kute for me, tho. ;)

Maybe I just want it to be that way...and am seeing things. : )

"The puppy was born in Japan and is owned by Emiko Sakurada who breeds dogs to sell to people in her pet shop.

Emiko said it was the first time a puppy with the marks had been born out of a thousand she had bred."

Yeah, nothing says cute like a puppy mill.

Bertha has heart-shaped heart.

Luckily I've been so freaking busy today that I haven't had to think about how really awful this day is. I've had maybe three good V-Day's in my life.

Hope everyone else feels some love...THANK YOU MEG AND THEO FOR ALL OF YOUR HARD WORK!!

Not near as cute but I noticed this week that one of my students at school has a heart-shaped birthmark high on her cheek right by her eye. How lucky it must be to be imprinted with love from birth. :)

Also, the ferrets in the top post with the valentine slay me. They could almost have been my two if my two weren't already at the rainbow bridge. Boohoo! Sad now!

My valentine kittyboyfriend comes complete with heart marking too: http://www.flickr.com/photos/thischarmingmeg/1237700583/in/set-72157600026045796/

Not as pronounced as the hyper adorable Japanese dog gene, but certainly notable in it's own right.
