I shall leeck—YOUR HINEY

Um, at Cute Overload, we make sure EVERY PIC packs a ponche. It's go large or GO HOME, PEOPLE!

This pic seriously delivers. As sender-inner Shianling K. points out:

1. There is leecking involved
2. Rule #2: Someone is looking heeelpless! [singsong]
3. Rule #7: A thing, accompanied by a smaller version of that thing, is always cute
4. Rule #1: Paws up (in this case, over eyes, with is even more points)
5. Rule #17: Tiny ear action
6. Rule #16: Keep your eyes at the height of your nose *and* have a five-head, (large forehead) and make sure your body is as tall as your head.
7. Rule #15: small ear-to-head ratio

Lickin_a_hiney

(Yes, I think Rules 15 and 17 are indeed the same) Derr!

Oh yeah, and the tiny ear action being completely overcompensated for by Mom, gotta love it.

D'ya think pandas could give seminars to help cute-deprived creatures improve their public image?

I see mom and baby here demonstrating how it's done to an audience of, say, possums, and all the little cute-challenged guys taking notes, and raising their peculier-fingered little paws with questions.

Some animal babies won't urinate unless prompted by wetness in that region; thus mothers lick their babies there. Humans raising these babies can use warm wash cloths and the like to help stimulate urination. I learned that watching that _Growing Up..._ show on Animal Planet. They had some really cute baby animal on that show.
/The baby tiger falling asleep when his keeper is bathing him is funny.

what about New Rule: Exposed, Incredi-Soft Underbelly?

LillyG
 |  Jan 28, 2007 at 06:57 PM

Ooooh! Little panda! Come home with me (after mom licks your butt).

I can confirm that licking-is-necessary-for-pooping observation by Fish Eye. When I fostered 3-day old orphaned kittens (aaawww), the shelter told me the momma would have licked their bottoms after every feeding to stimulate elimination. I was happy to feed them at 3:00 a.m., keep them as clean as possible, and give them all the lovin' in the world...but I must say I drew the line at licking their bottoms. I'm here to tell you that a cotton ball dipped in warm water does wonders for the feline excretory system.

Props to Panda Momma for doing the job right!

The baby is definitely embarrassed... "Mooooooooom!!??? Geez!!"

Have you heard about the 18 baby pandas in China who need names by the end of the week? That Panda Palooza is here http://musicchick2.vox.com/library/post/love-baby-giant-pandas-name-them.html Tell us what YOU think their names should be! ;-D

For sure, that's a hiney only a mother could love.

"The panda that rocks the cradle is the panda that rules the world."

(This would have been a perfect pic for Mother's Day.)

Meg - should rules 15 & 17 be combined into one? Maybe even? Thereby giving us an open rule just BEGGIN' to be filled!

I...am at a loss for words. This sets the precedent for all cute to follow. This should be displayed in open places in urban areas to instill calm. We can fix the world with this image!

I realize that they're large, endangered animals, they're not even bears, etc., etc. - but pandas just look SO MUCH like something you'd win at ring-toss at the county fair!

Erica
 |  Jan 28, 2007 at 09:26 PM

Miko- anyone with children, especially boys, knows that the best way to get a baby to pee is simply to remove their diaper. They are then like little geysers. ;)

Pands are the super-cuteist things in the whole world!!!

Oh my dear DEAR!! I do agree with those rules, even if they do replicate. I don't care. Especially the thing next to smaller version of thing, and paws over nose.

eek!

this is not a trifecta it is a heptafecta. Um sounds weird. I prefer just calling it a paragon of prosh or perhaps the archtype of adorable.

OMG Sweetness! Panda's are the Gods of Cute.

Meg, you forgot one MAJOR rule - ROUNDNESS!!!

I love how embarrassed the little baby looks.

Oh my God! now I think I am a reincarnation of a Panda. When I pee before bed and I want to get rid of that last little bit, so I don't have to get up in the night, I've found by tickling my self above the bum (hiney) it restimulates the flow. oh by the way the bebe is only cleaning his sun glasses not scratching his eyes.

The Hon. G.A. -- I don't think I needed to know that...

Now, back to the picture above -- Lookit teh PANDAS! I wanna hug them (well, maybe when they're finished what they're doin', THEN I'll hug them...) The baby is so sweet, and as many many peeps have said before me, so embarrassed!

I think this might even beat a kitten licking a puppy who's licking a bunny. Baby pandy's "appalled" expression is priceless.
