Hey Atlanta Zoo? High Five!

Check out the sweetness that is "Mei Lan" the prize bebeh panda of the Atlanta Zoo. She's learning valuable lessons, right in front of your eyes!

Lesson 1. How to eat bamboo. Snorgle first, then place in chompers like Columbo.

Lil_peach_mumsies

Lesson 2. For best results during media visits, pretend it's your 1986 school pic and post with a "log".

Lil_peach_3_1

Lil_peachipillar

3. Life's cruel lesson: [Say in Casey Kasem radio voice] "Keep your feet on the ground, and keep reaching for those stars"

Ehn! (Also, please note complete lack of 'tocks)

Lil_peach_oomph

and Lesson 4: Try and focus your eyeballs. This isn't the Chihuahua exhibit.

Way to be a sender-inner, Erin G. ;)

What perfect timing! I saw "Meet the Pandas" on Animal Planet twice this week. It's the story of Tai Shan and his birth at the National Zoo in Washington DC. Check it out! http://animal.discovery.com/convergence/pandas/pandas.html

I hope you can see it the next time its broadcast. SO PROSH!

Indeed blood -- if you look at zoo atlanta's website, apparently pandas produce 30 lbs of poop each day! suddenly I'm more appreciative of my cats, who don't produce nearly as much...

My favorite panda post was about the Washington baby, Tai Shan. One rainy night he wouldn't come down from the tree (which was, I'm not kidding, No. 1: The Larch) so they could put him up for the night.

That day's blog started "His Majesty, Lord of the Trees, and Slayer of Staff Personal Time, otherwise referred to as Tai Shan, did not descend from his perch until 11 p.m. Monday night."

lauowolf - There was a lot of bamboo where I used to live. You can watch it growing! And it is strong. It started coming up through the garage floor. I think a thicket of bamboo is called a cane brake?

Suda Nim - Thanks for sharing. I wish that was CNN's Headline.

Other than that I got nothin'. Except that , "eats, shoots and leaves" joke. That's all I got. Shoot.

Just remember: *I'm* not the one who raised up bar jokes....

A horse walks into a bar. The bartender says "Why the long face?"

A nun, a rabbi, and a minister walk into a bar. The bartender says, "Is this some kind of joke?

It's like picking up my kid at pre-school --back when.
Only cuter.
