Meg, it's Saturday. And though I totally appreciate new cuteness in the morning... sleep in girl!

Anyway, thanks for the new ammo I need to convince my boyfriend we need another kitten. We only have one right now. :(

kitten 2: no! you must be CHOMPED! (face chomp)

both kittens: rartrrghghhghghhchomp-grab-snorg

Jennie- unless the kitty you have right now is a kitten please talk to others who have introduced a new catty to their mother ship. I did, and it was not fun and games to watch the baby being beaten around the house (as my vet suggested, "let them be and figure it out themselves"). It took about 4 months for the new kitty to be accepted by my other cat.

 |  Sep 09, 2006 at 09:57 AM

Oh! I want to be a kitten!

 |  Sep 09, 2006 at 09:57 AM

Wow I didn't know it's possible for cats to share such close relationships. The scenes with one kitty licking the other just make me go Awww...

 |  Sep 09, 2006 at 10:23 AM

Yeah, that looks about right. Play hard, sleep hard, find someone to love. Not a bad life.

Go to the website, and more videos will appear. Ah happiness.

 |  Sep 09, 2006 at 10:32 AM

"KENGI THAM: Dircetor"?

How does one dircet kitties? They're hard enough to direct, let alone dircet.

Amen thinker, amen!

Fight, play, lick, lick some more, fight, sleep, sit on your butt, lick some more...

The kittehs live a grand life indeed!

 |  Sep 09, 2006 at 10:38 AM

Aha, cute.

(But I LIKE the weird renfaire music...)

That music sortof makes the top of my head numb.

 |  Sep 09, 2006 at 11:43 AM

Danielle - Don't worry. My kitten is still mostly kitten. She just turned a year. Plus, she has all the behaviours that suggest that she would enjoy a playmate (such as meowing longingly at her reflection, and doing very well with change). I do have lots of cat friend owners, and have owned cats for a long time, and know how to introduce another pet of any type to any type of pet. But thanks for your concern. ^_^

 |  Sep 09, 2006 at 11:44 AM

So that's why kitties should come in pairs like salt-n-pepper shakers or fuzzy slippers! The music seemed like silent film music to me, except we didn't get to the reel where one kitten tied the other to a railroad track.

Flying Butt Chomp! Hands down the best part of that vid.

 |  Sep 09, 2006 at 11:59 AM

Theo, is that a harbor seal in that link you posted? I always thought of them as rather cute and plump, despite their carnivorous habits. Not sure I will looks at seals in quite the same way after this.

"The music seemed like silent film music to me, except we didn't get to the reel where one kitten tied the other to a railroad track."

Bahahahah! Maybe I'm a little overtired, but that cracked me up.

Adorable kittens, I have the same behavior over here sometimes, but with pudgy full-grown tabbies.

 |  Sep 09, 2006 at 12:22 PM

Sooooo cute! I think one has cleanliness issues. :)

 |  Sep 09, 2006 at 12:33 PM

Teho, can I use the 'now your face I eat' pic as an avatar? Sorry, I'm way offtopic here.

 |  Sep 09, 2006 at 12:39 PM

 |  Sep 09, 2006 at 01:24 PM

So cute---the music reminds me of retro Gameboy tetris music.

Darcy -- do as you like... it was from a Google image search; I just added the caption. Original was here:

I HAVE a new kitten in the house, and two in the backyard doing wrassling and cuddling, and yet this video still made my head asplode!

Behold the power of THE QUTE!

 |  Sep 09, 2006 at 02:39 PM

Oh, we turned the 51" TV on last night while TuxKit was out. He was FASCINATED!

Not surprising, as we first noticed his mommy when she would sit outside the window to watch it.

 |  Sep 09, 2006 at 02:41 PM

Oh my gizzawd. As if KITTENS PART I wasn't cute enought...

Get ready for more snorgling, gnawing, tv-ogling, and falling-off of chairs. And "Animal Instinct" playing in the background... Plus, there's comments on the video... but alas! I cannot read most of them!

 |  Sep 09, 2006 at 03:03 PM

Mwahaha...my computer doesn't do the whole "sound" thing, so I was able to watch in silence.

Omg...the "lick-lick-chomp" scene had me dying, as well as the "flying butt-chomp" part. Reminds me again why it's so awesome when two animals grow up together. My mom bought a kitten for her lonely puppy when she was in college, and she said it was the most hilarious decision she ever made. They would chase each other through the apartment all day, with the kitten baffling the dog and making him run into walls and stuff. Like a ninja or something.

Equus said it first, but: I wanna be a kitten. At the very least, I'd be cuter than I am now.

 |  Sep 09, 2006 at 04:08 PM

Meg, Give the videos a rest! They're cute and all, but they're all common animals and they take forever to load! They make the page heavy. Please keep it to a minimum
Yours Truly,
Ps: I check CO everyday, and my processor has a hard time handling it.

 |  Sep 09, 2006 at 04:56 PM

Over on my new VOX blog, I finally have HRT and TK pix up. w00t!

 |  Sep 09, 2006 at 05:00 PM

Proof once again that the only thing better than a kitten is TWO KITTENS! Actually I like older cats even better, because they don't rampage the house, which is good because they're cats a lot longer than they're kittens.
Danielle, I appreciate your concern about introducing a new kitten-- and it sounds like you need to get a vet who has a clue-- but twice I've seen a new kitten harass the hell out of the older cats, easygoing guys who preferred to run away rather than smack the little brat, who assumed this was a great new chase game... so sometimes they need to be separated for a while for the sanity of the older cat.

 |  Sep 09, 2006 at 06:36 PM

I'm with you, Zap. We had 2 teenage cats in the house (16 & 18) when we brought in liddle JJ. We thought they would put the fearogod into her, seeing as they were 5x her size. This teeny little fluffball had them both terrorized almost instantaneously, and still does. Anthropomorphising a bit, my husband says they're thinking: "Who let the toddler into Century Village???"

Luv this video, Meg... Never enough marmalade kittehs!

 |  Sep 09, 2006 at 07:06 PM

Hi, Peeps!

Just back in from my week away, where I only had enough computer time to lurk and read a few comments at a time. Much catching up to do.

I have newses:
1. The boxcar cats are now an official trapping colony of Annex Cat Rescue, meaning their spay, neuter, kitten deworming, etc. costs are all being covered by that organization. I'll still be trapping (with my trapping partners) and we're out tomorrow night to try again. Wish us luck.

2. Aubrey, CO master punstress is a lovely person and treat to have dinner with. (waves hi at Aubrey)

3. New boxcar kitten pix -- these are the three most recently rescued, and now all cleaned up and awaiting adoption. When you last saw these kittens, they all had gummy, infected eyes.

Boy the boxcar kitties sure clean up nice! The photos are really nice, too--I especially like the peach drapey background; it complements their coloring quite nicely.

 |  Sep 09, 2006 at 08:29 PM

Whoa, three "nice's" in that last post. Time to get me a new vocab...

 |  Sep 09, 2006 at 08:31 PM

How fabulous, Laurie C! What a relief -- now you "only" have to trap them.

Fuzzy cute-ums! Cute names, too.

TK wants to be HRT's friend. She'll have none of it. Sigh. Going to be a long autumn.

 |  Sep 09, 2006 at 08:31 PM

Holy cow!!! Ickle kitteh goodness EXTREME!!! Lots of snorgling in that video!!! So cute!!! That said, I must biatch about one thing that bugged me in the video...NEVER EVER EVER use a laser pointer as a cat toy...sure the concept of the little beam of light on the wall makes great playchasing, but that can cause permanent eye damage if you're not careful and the littlest distraction can be detremental. I'm sure they're responsible kitten slaves, but please, folks, don't use 'em...I might be a little overcautious, so sorry, guys!!

LT: Ted keeps trying to play with George, but George just keeps pushing him away, or leaving the room. Apparently one of the first times Ted tried to play, George put his paw on his head and Ted just kept pawing away at air, just like when a big guy puts his hand out on a little guy's forehead and the little guy swings at air. Wish I'd seen that. I guess George just tolerates Ted. My friend really wasn't sure what the reaction would be - they had recently lost an older cat so it was a toss-up about what George's reaction would be.

 |  Sep 09, 2006 at 08:37 PM

I'd settle for toleration.

I'd settle for the grrr hiss and hatred if HRT would just eat enough.

I am a worried mommy.][hujjjjjjjjjjjjj
