Bonsai Hamster

Please forgive moi, but I cannot find the sender of this delightful photo. The only thing I have left is the title; "Bonsai Hamster"—which is just too damn funny. Check out his leetle tail in his Habitrail cup. Way too much proshness.

hahaha XD yeah, hamsters LOVE sleeping in cramped spaces, i guess it makes them feel safe. That's why they can be as goofy as they can be ^_^

Having never had a close relationship with a hamster, I'm astounded at his little feetsies. Are those normal for hamsters to have pads that look like stalagmites?

They're very cute.

bonsai hamster? is this like the same concept as the bonsai kitten? then it wouldn't be cute at all... >_<

Subhangi-- I think that's the funniest part, too! I love the little cauliflower feets but their tails are even more unusual. Been a long time since I owned one but I still wonder how in the world they can sit with such a stiff tail.

Lee---- Everyone needs to own a hamster at some point in their lives! :o)
They have velvet soft feet and are actually quite "cud-jee" :o)

I must admit, because of this site I got it into my head to adopt some hammies. Through Petfinder.com, I found 3 brothers and 3 sisters who needed a loving home (I keep them in separate cages by gender, of course). Their names? Girls: Poppy, Pansy, and Peony. Boys: Brownie, Mr. Nippers, and the Other One (my hubby was in charge of naming the boys).

Hi jaypo,

I actually adopted my hamsters (for free) from a local Petco store near me. They offer animals for sale, of course, but they also have an area for fostered/stray animals looking for homes. I'm against pet stores myself, but Petfinder directed me to this place. (The Petco staff member said a person dropped them off because their hamsters mated and they didn't want the babies.)

Thanks, Laura! There is a Petco store in my area. I'll give them a call to see if they have any little munchkins needing a home. Keeping my fingers crossed!

Laura--I think it's great that you adopted your hamsters! And six?! Wow!!! What in the world will you do when they get old enough to fight with each other?

To everyone else: Petco is notorious for being neglectful and cruel to small animals, so you'll want to avoid them. I had no idea that they offered surplus hamsters up occasionally, though, so that's obviously a different situation!

This little piggy went to market
This little piggy stayed home
This little piggy ate roast beef
This little piggy had none
This little piggy laid parquette
This little piggy polished chrome
This little piggy swam though coral reef
This little piggy bought a phone

(after 73 more toes...)

And *this* little piggy went wee wee wee all the way home!
