"Wot? the rabbit?"

This is so Monty Python it's ridiculous, only this time, it's a ferret. James W. H., thank you for sending in this delightful photo. For he rest of you; quotes:

Tim: There he is!
King Arthur: Where?
Tim: There!
King Arthur: What? Behind the rabbit?
Tim: It *is* the rabbit!
King Arthur: You silly sod!
Tim: What?
King Arthur: You got us all worked up!
Tim: Well, that's no ordinary rabbit.
King Arthur: Ohh.
Tim: That's the most foul, cruel, and bad-tempered rodent you ever set eyes on!
Sir Robin: You tit! I soiled my armor I was so scared!
Tim: Look, that rabbit's got a vicious streak a mile wide! It's a killer!
Sir Galahad: Get stuffed!
Tim: He'll do you up a treat, mate.
Sir Galahad: Oh, yeah?
Sir Robin: You mangy Scots git!
Tim: I'm warning you!
Sir Robin: What's he do? Nibble your bum?
Tim: He's got huge, sharp... er... He can leap about. Look at the bones!
King Arthur: Go on, Bors. Chop his head off!
Sir Bors: Right! Silly little bleeder. One rabbit stew comin' right up!

"Well, we'll not risk another frontal assault. That rabbit's dynamite."

"I *warned* you, but did you listen to me? Oh, no, you *knew*, didn't you? Oh, it's just a harmless little *bunny*, isn't it?"

Cute little ferret...

 |  Feb 21, 2006 at 11:31 AM

SWEET! god, i love the Python. but...er...that's not a rabbit O.o*

 |  Feb 21, 2006 at 11:33 AM

It's either albino, or it has its winter coat (more likely).

That ferret *is* dynamite, tho.

 |  Feb 21, 2006 at 11:37 AM

Oh such a little nose.

 |  Feb 21, 2006 at 11:43 AM

PS -- hey Tigger -- check out *this* link.

 |  Feb 21, 2006 at 11:44 AM

Adorable ferret! I love Monty Python too!

 |  Feb 21, 2006 at 11:44 AM

It's adorable, but I don't think it's a ferret. If this is a wild animal, it's probably a genuine ermine. As in, the animal they make fur coats out of. We have ferrets -- including an albino -- and it doesn't look quite like this.

 |  Feb 21, 2006 at 11:52 AM

Ooh, ermine! I think we have a winner. (link)

 |  Feb 21, 2006 at 11:56 AM

It's a stoat, they aren't albinos...they just change their coats.

 |  Feb 21, 2006 at 11:59 AM

Ehn! (sound of me trying to reach cute critter for hugs and snuggles)

 |  Feb 21, 2006 at 12:19 PM

Hmmm hard to say - here's a link for a stoat (and a cute baby stoat it is!)

 |  Feb 21, 2006 at 12:19 PM

Stoat coat.

Stoat coat stoat coat stoat coat.

Cous cous.

 |  Feb 21, 2006 at 12:24 PM

Oh, my god that is melting my whole cranium!!

You planted the cutest little plush toy ever made in that cave to make it look like a real ferret, then took a photo... didn't you admit it now!

That photo is mnd alteringly cute... and in a natural setting no less!

 |  Feb 21, 2006 at 12:31 PM

But surely this ferrett will greet visitors with a warm, snuggly reception!!

 |  Feb 21, 2006 at 01:04 PM

Yeah, that's a stoat in its winter coat, aka ermine:

Soooo adorable.

 |  Feb 21, 2006 at 01:21 PM

Run away! Run away!

 |  Feb 21, 2006 at 01:27 PM

 |  Feb 21, 2006 at 01:55 PM

 |  Feb 21, 2006 at 02:07 PM

Yeah, I was like, that's not a ferret, it's some kind of weasel.

 |  Feb 21, 2006 at 02:42 PM

Sharp Pointy Teeth! Deadly cute.

 |  Feb 21, 2006 at 07:33 PM

That's not a ferret.

It's an Ermine. LOL

 |  Feb 21, 2006 at 11:48 PM

Awww...so cute, No one could bear to use the Holy Hand Grenade on it.

 |  Feb 22, 2006 at 02:45 AM

Awwww...It's cute to the point where it looks somewhat unreal, like a plushie. :3

 |  Feb 22, 2006 at 02:46 AM

Ferret/ Stoat/ Ermine/ Mink?
Does it really even matter what I think?
Darn your snowy coat and beady black eyes,
You'll be in trouble when the next reader dies.

 |  Feb 22, 2006 at 04:39 AM

[bows down before Subhangi]

[then, as a thought occurs, stands back up]

...um I think you may have left out "weasel."
I drive a car. It uses diesel.

[pained expression. bows back down.]

O Lord, bless this thy hand grenade, that with it thou mayst blow thine enemies to tiny bits, in thy mercy.

I used to have a Silver Mitt ferret -- she was white, with big black eyes, just like that. And then she had some black or dark brown guard hairs, but they were towards her rump-end.

So, this could be a dark-eyed white or a light-guarded silver mitt ferret, if it's not a wild animal mentioned above.

But still, so cute I can't stand it.

 |  Feb 26, 2006 at 08:38 AM

It is actually a "least weasel," I believe.

 |  Feb 26, 2006 at 01:16 PM

That a ermine (also called a stoat) in it's winter coat. Cute!

 |  Mar 08, 2006 at 04:59 PM

That is too cute ^_^

 |  Mar 14, 2006 at 06:49 AM

Well, remember that the way to tell the difference between a weasel and a stoat is that a weasel's weaselly identified, while a stoat's stoatally different.

 |  Mar 15, 2006 at 01:45 PM

This looks like a Least Weasel in its winter coat to me.

Least Weasel is one of the smallest carnivores, at a whopping 7 inches long.

 |  Mar 17, 2006 at 09:17 AM

Dear Meg,

What a cute lil' ferret, er, whatever it is, but I remember from the Holy Grail that it was a killer bunny, but I give you props 'cause its cute!!

Killer Bunny(Anybody's)
