It's PuppyBowl II time, People

Logo_1
Oh, they do _not_ have a kitten half time show. That's fantastic!

Today at 3PM EST, courtesy of Animal Plizzanet, PuppyBowl II is on. I think their logo might be the best part. I mean look at this thing! Awesome.

I _love_ that you can vote for Most Valuable Puppy. AND each pup has a stat card.

Only one question remains: Who are the ad wizards who came up with this one? [say in Adam Sandler voice]

It's on now. Yes, I'm watching it... I can't look away. It's like a train wreck, except cuddlier. My favorite parts are the "Bowl Cam," a view from the bottom of the water dish, and when the "referee" comes onfield to clean up the puppies' messes.

They should have done the kitten bowl with the puppy half time show. The kittens were infinitely more entertaining and funny. Both were super cute.

I am so glad that you posted the Puppy Bowl. I watched last year and fell in love. My whole day is planned around it!

Who would have thought this would be so fascinating! And I love the time-outs for puppy penalties. Fell in love with it last year as well.

The MVPuppy is that poodle. That dog was way too hyper.

No kidding!

Remind me, if I ever get a dog, that I do NOT want a poodle. It would wear me out.

The poodle was THE BEST. His name is Barry and he is three months old. I'm starting a fan club; he was so dang cute and goofy.

Being the owner of a Beagle... I have to say I love the "players" better this year..

I loved the kitty halftime show, but I was mildly disappointed by the two cat toys that looked like balls of string. I'm pretty sure at least one of them was a rubber ball with an attachment made to look like yarn, but I just kinda thought it was a bad example to set for kitty parents.

Still, those cats were pretty darn cute.

Saw it last year, saw it this year. Loved it both years. The kitty half-time show was pure adorableness, but the disco/porn music was a little jarring.

I saw the Puppy Bowl... it was soo cute! So was the kitten half-time show too! Yes, the disco/porn music was a little odd, but the kitties were cute ^_^

I wish they had more small, fluffy puppies.

Did you ever hear about the puppy channel? This American Life did a show on it once:
http://www.thislife.org/
it's episode 233.

I read an article that many of the puppies came from a rural shelter in North Carolina, which is why there were so many hound-mixes this year.

I'm fostering a hound mix myself right now though, so I have no problem with that!

But Barry definitely should be the MVP.

BTW-Fun fact: In the newspaper article, the lady who adopted Danny found out he was going to appear on the Puppy Bowl and she and her friends have been voting constantly for him to be MVP. I don't know if that can explain all the votes he's been getting though.

I loved the kitty half time. My two kitties were watching the whole time. I felt bad because they looked like they wanted to be IN there playing with the kitties!

actually, the puppies came from the Nelson County shelter in Virginia, and have all been adopted :)

Wow, pure genius! I have to say, I first saw the Puppy Bowl on my TiVo and I thought, "Holy Crap, this thing is 3 hours!" But, it was of course, 3 hours of tumbly-wumbly, rolly-polly puppy goodness!

But being myself "owned by a pug puppy," I would have loved to see a baby puglette in the mix. Maybe next year. And I am just Moon-Over-My-Hammie that they were all adopted!

Hooray For Puppies!

Thank you! I just had the best laugh-so-hard-you-cry moment watching this online. The "bowl cam" is pure genius.

They did have a half-time show. A bunch of scared looking kittens withering under a hail of tickertape.

My apologies. The above was already commented on. I didn't read it clearly enough.

The Puppy Bowl is one of my highlights of the year. It was ON this year, too - between Disco and Cha Cha, regularly stomping Barry the Poodle into submission, little miss Sheeba getting her curly tail chomped on - and pulled out straight! - and the Bissell Kitty Halftime Show, this was a great way to spend the afternoon (and evening). Buy the DVD!

My pup, Rufus, loved watching the Puppy Bowl last night. The Squeaking toy got his attention at first, but then it seemed like the dogs were trying to gang up on the poodle.

The Kitty Halftime Show was just TOO freakin' cute! And that poor little referee guy who had to come in and call mock plays so that he could pick up puppy poop. That was just some good ole' hilarious fun.
