Hey Meow Mix, I got yer next ad campaign right HERE

Remember our first ad campaign image for kittehs. Remember that awesome photo we had of those two kitteh paws reaching out for that treat bag? If search worked on this site I could prolly find it. Anywho...

Ann Marie says that her kitteh Elvin pulled the Meow Mix bag out of the recycling. She says: "I guess there were crumbs left in there because he was in there for awhile."

I'm waiting, Madison Avenue. Waiting.

Kitteh is just trying to help out by not wasting one *bit* of food!! Fiscal responsibility, y'know.

If my kitties ate Meow Mix I'd think that was one of mine! Cute and so perfect for cat owners. (also tailage is good for nomming too.)

kitties are self-feeding, as well as self-cleaning!

I have to keep the kibble way up high, to stop my cats doing the same.

THIS is why we keep the cat food in plastic storage containers XD

Kinda reminds me of myself . . . not so much the MeowMix, but rather a bag of Cheetos or Salt N Vinegar Chippies.

I never noticed that the logo is made of cat. Anyway, we keep our dry food in a plastic bucket so Henry doesn't nibble through the bag.

No, that cat food bag with the tail doesn't look suspicious at all. Why do you ask?

 |  Jan 05, 2009 at 09:39 AM

Now I'm very curious to see what Elvin looks like sans bag.

[My guess: Full. - Ed.]

Did you folks ever think that perhaps there isn't a kitteh in the bag at all, but that perhaps the bag has simply grown a tail?

Silent Meow
 |  Jan 05, 2009 at 10:04 AM

maybe Maru outgrew the box addiction and has moved on to bags?

claudia

I'm just glad that there's no music with this ad... The Meow Mix song is the toughest earworm to dislodge, you know.

I keep the food in a plastic bin myself. But that wasn't stopping a certain kitten (at the time) from ripping a hole in the new bag awaiting the final emptying of said bin so that he could get some fresh. To his credit, the hole was just big enough for him to reach in with a claw and pull one kibble out at a time.

Silent Meow-what an interesting concept-you think maybe cat-tail spores just landed and the tail grew because of the plentiful nutrients? Hmmm, very astute.

Killer Corgi doesn't molest the bag of food on the floor, so far, it is a wonder, with her appetite that she hasn't! She waits patiently for each scoop!

Hmm, looks like someone added the water to their Meow Mix. (I forget-- is it instant or do you have to bake it?)

not cute! it can die from being suffocated that way. people, please don't try this at home.

 |  Jan 05, 2009 at 01:12 PM

Now THAT was a totally unwarrented Nuff, don'tcha think? Talk about always seeing the worst case scenario. Here's a resolution for you: Try to see things more positively, especially silly pictures of animals, k? Life will be brighter for it, trust me.

Vampy
 |  Jan 05, 2009 at 01:20 PM

Hold on there, Vampy-kins- eep did use "don't try this at home" and stopped right there. I think we may have a win-win situation here.

It IS a big bag, I suspect if the cat was "in there for a while" that it has enough oxygen to make it out safely.

Katrina
 |  Jan 05, 2009 at 01:34 PM

Tis hard to tell with text, yes? Plus, I've gone through the worst three days of my life, so I'm a tad touchy. It did strike me as a pointless Nuffing, it may have been meant as a joke.

 |  Jan 05, 2009 at 01:46 PM

Cats are not like babies. They know when there's not enough oxygen and how to escape quickly. I'm dubious as to whether eep has ever been owned by a cat.

Katrina,
Could that be why they call it Meow Mix?

Put the right mixture of nutrients together, and grow a cat tail.

I find that Meow Mix logo quite disturbing. "Here cats, have some...dismembered cat food."

 |  Jan 05, 2009 at 04:20 PM

@Silent: So if I had a little nibble of Meow Mix, I might grow a little nubbin of a tail? Hmmmmm.

We have to keep all catfood in a cupboard with a tight fitting door, otherwise the kittehs get it... also have to make sure to NEVER leave any freshly bought meat from the shop unattended (even if it's still wrapped and in a plastic bag). Kitteh nomming on kitteh food box is cute. Kitteh nomming on steak meant for dinner... (hell, it's also cute but not too hygenic)

I had a kitty jump up on the kitchen counter, open the cabinet, remove the plastic container of catnip, drag it thru the cat door out to the garage, and he and his 5 cat siblings all worked together to get the darn thing open. Then they puked all over the house from too much nip.

When I was cat/dog-sitting over Thanksgiving, I caught the cat once tearing into a packet of raw hamburger meat that was thawing for the dogs' dinner, and another time licking the cheesecake we were having for dessert.

Theo, next time I'll use the [tongue-n-cheek] font.

If I leave a box of biscuits out, my cats will bite through the cardboard box to get to the goodies inside!

auntyb- Yah my cat socks and my brothers cat tiger once found all the pounce treats in the closet while we were away on vacation and chewed the lids off each one(there were about 20 or so in a plastic bag in the top of the closet).. and they never touched the dry cat food.. lol
