Bunnaloons or Cataloons?

What's hotter this season? [Runway music starts]

First, we have gaucho Bunnaloons. Pants that hug your shape and even look great with last-year's Ugg boots.

Next up, if you're looking for two-toned and slimming, try these straight-leg bunnaloons.

For the fuller figure, (though we don't recommend white) try a skirt.

In cataloons this season, it's all about the bold, Marmelade Muu Muu

Skinny with an active lifestyle? Choose this Velveteen number to give you curves! Ow!

And finally, don't forget, orange arm bangles do wonders for concealing a pear-shape...

I am sorry to hijack this post, but your good vibes are needed. My youngest cat, Philo, the one we hand-raised and bottle-fed since he was two weeks old (abandoned by mom) is in the hospital and as I type this is undergoing exploratory surgery.

He had a vomiting problem that was steadily getting worse, and was constant over the last week. I was unable to get him in to see the vet until Saturday. He spent the weekend in the ER, on IV fluids, because he was dehydrated (he's very small, only 6 lbs. despite being a year and a half old). They thought he swallowed something (showed up on X-ray) but that moved to his intestines. Then they thought it was a pyloric stenosis. Then yesterday morning the vet called and said if the day went well, he could come home. Then at lunch, she called and said he'd eaten, but kept throwing it up again. So they're cutting my baby open. :(

Please, just spare a thought or good vibe or prayer for my littlest of furbutts. I just want my brat back, healthy and happy. Husband and I went to see him last night and he was just a puddle of purrs and headbutts. It was so hard to leave him.

And Obligatory OnTopic: Of course cataloons are cuter!

Noelegy,

My sincerest prayers and cuddly thoughts to you and your baby Philo. I had a cat (still have him, actually) that had a serious problem with crystallization in his urine. Back and forth to the vet, he spent a week there on a catheter at one point. Almost got to the surgical stage, but he finally got through it.

Long story short, I feel your pain. It's so hard to "wait and see" when it's your precious. Please let us know how things turn out.

Oh, and CATALOONS ROCK!

More good wishes for Philo. I went through a similiar thing with one of mine. I think that it was the mother of all hairballs despite not showing up the upper GI.

Hopefully Philo has something just as uncomplicated.

BTW, are those grass stains in the first pic?

Best wishes to little Philo! I hope he will be home and feeling better soon. ( I just brought my two kitties home vet this morning after having them spayed. I felt like an ogre dropping them off at the vet yesterday but I know it was for their own good. Motherhood is tough!)

Thank you everyone. The vibes worked! He came through his surgery fine, but they didn't find any foreign objects, so they took biopsies. The doc said his lymph nodes were somewhat enlarged. For now she is going to treat as for an ulcer, with antacids and anti-nausea meds. She said hopefully I will get to bring him home tomorrow.

Noelegy...I'm so glad to hear Philo made it through. What an absolute cutie he is!!! Still sending good thoughts that they find whatever was wrong and fix him up good as new.

About the post...will this be on America's Next Top Model tonight. I think we'll have to send the first bun home for the dirty mouth. She/He can come model at my house, I don't care about a little dirt.

Noelegy,

What a cutie! Glad to hear it wasn't something really bad, and hope the further tests turn out OK. Maybe he just ate something really gross while you weren't looking and is too ashamed to admit it! Get well soon little Philo!

@Noelegy: Awww! What a cutie!!! I know how stressful it is to wait and wonder. I hope it turns out to be nothing, maybe just some kind of weird cat-flu!!

And, I love cataloons and bunnaloons, too!!!

@Noelelegy, healing purrs for your little kitty's recovery. I once had a tinycat like that, and she was an absolute terror. I remember her zinging all over the examining room, with the vet scrambling after her muttering,"It's ALWAYS the little ones!"

Theresa, the way you spelled my screen name made me giggle and think of an old poem called "The Squilililigee" by Countee Cullen. It's in a collection called "The Lost Zoo," which explains why various animals didn't make it onto the Ark. The poem is actually quite sad in a way; the Squilililigee was sad because all the other animals made fun of its name, and so it deliberately stayed behind.

I checked this book out of the library when I was about 6, and when I got to the part about the tears in the Squilililigee's eyes as the waters rose, I burst into tears at the sadness of it all.

But anyway.

When I called the vet Saturday morning to see if we could get in to see her, Philo was zipping all over the bedroom, bouncing and running and playing and basically displaying NO evidence of being ill.

Noelegy: Were you a philosophy major at a large university? I met a girl in a philosophy program with the same screen name.

THREADJACK: REPEAT POST: Apologies-- But please read--

ATTENTION CUTEOVERLOADERS AND CAT LOVERS IN GENERAL:

If you would like to adopt a baby kitten (approximately 5 weeks old, eating solid food-- we think):

My husband found a wee baby kitten, dirty, skin and bone, crying like the dickens out in the rain 20 minutes ago. We can't take him in permanently, because we'd be in violation of our lease, as we already share a rented house with 2 rescued kitties and 1 dog. If you're within 250 of Lake Cumberland (Kentucky), we'll bring Isaac Mewton to you, as long as you can prove to us 1) you're allowed to have him, meaning, if you rent, prove to us your Landlord allows kitties, or prove to us you own your property.

2) Show us you will keep him INDOORS if you live in a city or near a road!

You can email me at larcombj@yahoo.com if you're interested, and we can send you pictures.

We're taking him to be tested for feline leukemia/FIV and other such things tomorrow.

Sorry to post this here, with such desperation. We live in the country, and see far too many dead kitties on our roads!
