And Now, Here's Every Episode of Lassie Ever Made

"Whoa there, Lassie!  Why the big hurry?"

(Insert 'screeching tires' sound effect here)

"What's that you say, girl?  Timmy's fallen down a well?  And he's broken both legs?  And he's surrounded by poisonous snakes?!  And he's sinking into quicksand?!?  And he's down to three percent power on his iPod?!?!"

(Insert 'whimpering collie' sound effect here)

"I'm coming, Timmy!! I shall accomplish a daring and heroic rescue in my own particular idiom!"

(Insert 'Hanna-Barbera running' sound effect here)

Let's hope the idiom doesn't require any heavy lifting, Kira G.

You think the budgie made off with some of Lassie's hair for nesting material?

"And he's down to three percent power on his iPod?!?"

OMG I just snorted! That is the funniest thing I have read in a while. You have a true gift, NTMTOM.

THAT was high-larious! I love the open mouth of the birdie in the second pic, going WHAT! Timmy fell down a well? And the third action shot of him trotting off. All he needs is a Lancelot outfit....

As I watched this the pn--umatic chair upon which my tocks are sitting s-l-o-w-l-y sank down to the lowest it can go,(without my expectation or intervention!) It was a fascinating way to read these three ever-lowering images.

NOMTOM, you take the breath out of a pn--umatic chair! Now THAT's creativity!

I love the leeps-licking in the second panel. "Hello funny little bird. Are you tasty?"

CP
 |  Oct 28, 2008 at 11:01 AM

Is it just my imagination or does Lassie look like she's been down the well herself in pic #2? The fur on her back legs just looks a little, um, odd to me.

Kari

"Look, down there on the rug!"
"It's a bird! Hey - wait it REALLY is a bird!"
"No, you're both wrong! It's SUPERBUDGIE!"
Yes, it's SUPERBUDGIE, able to leap on swings, swallow and crack seeds with his Super-beak, fly around the living room, and bend steel cage bars with his bare, er - wings(?). And who, disguised here as mild-mannered Clark Cluck, strikes a note for justice, freedom, and the American Way! The only thing that stands in his way is the fact that he cannot lift anything over two ounces! Oh yes, that and any hungry FELINES living nearby.

um, it was the ladybug in the first frame that finally went off to alert the finally got off to the rescue. She was thinkin, "that Lassie is as slow as a turtle in a frilly skirt that just got her nails done." Then she thought, "What would that kitteh saving dog in Australia do? " Then she got all the other lady bugs that were just chillin', and together, they rescued little Timmy.

That dialogue was riveting! I felt like I was really there--watching the action live or at least sitting in front of a really old, black and white television!

TrumanRabbit

The first Timmy fell in a well. So we got a second one. That one fell down a well. So we got a third. That one tripped on a budgie, hit his head on a turtleskirt, and then fell into a well. But the fourth one stays home and hangs out on the seafoam-colored carpet. And that's the Timmy you're going to get, NTMTOM. The smartest, albeit laziest, Timmy in all of Hollywood.

U GO, NTMTOM!!!!! Let's hear it for the baby-boomers on CO!!! (Lassie rules) We had to put our Chloe to rest today. She was a very NICE cat. She seemed grateful for every day that she lived with us. RIP Sweet girl.

As the owner of both a collie and a Sheltie, I must ask - what on *earth* has happened to that dog's undercarriage? As a previous poster asked, did it go down the well with Timmy also?

What is with these budgies? So bold, so brazen! (Thinking of the budgie taming the ginger kitten).
