Still, here's yet another reason to build treehouses.

I wish we had gotten this close to some giraffe libbippage when we were in Africa! I guess we'll just have to go back and try again.

Warthogs-a face only a mother could love!

I kinda wanna make out with that giraffe, even though it's pretty clear it would cost me my life.

I wonder if you could scritch and pat a giraffe's head the way you can with a horse. I wonder if the giraffe would enjoy it or if it would break your arms with its weird black tongue.

Having visited both the Giraffe Manor and the Giraffe Centre in Nairobi, Kenya - I believe that is probably actually at the Giraffe Centre. http://www.giraffecenter.org/
Tons of baby warthogs at the centre . . . less so at the Manor.;-) And the treehouse is a dead give away. ;-)
Wonderful photo though . . . gotta love the tongues!

Hey folks! Go to the closest zoo! The ones in Columbia SC and Ashboro NC both have a giraffe feeding bridge. So much fun to have her eating out of my hand!

Well, now, I don't know if I've shared this with you, but I WANT A GIRAFFE!
Oh, yes, I know I have said this before but I WANT A GIRAFFE! Maybe it is because I have a Welsh Corgi and I'm compensating. Thank you for showing us giraffes and thank you Laura in atlanta, for the extra giraffes. Oh, what a good day- and thank you.

Seeing the captioning made me think of this guy, completely unrelated to giraffes but he is sorta cute. ;-)

odd facts to know and tell:

a giraffe's tongue can reach lengths just short of two feet.

You ever see Buck Rogers?
Twiki had a standard phrase
"bidi-bidi-bidi" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Twiki

Meg's capshuning made me think of that is all. Like I sed, completely unrelated to a giraffe, just a normal segue for my brain.

I saw a documentary on giraffes on Animal Planet last month. They emphasised the fact that giraffes drool. LOTS!! Thick, long, goopy drool!! Constantly. I wish I hadn't watched that episode, as I will never again want to snorgle a giraffe!! Some things are best left unsaid. Or, at least unshown!!

I think Meg's reference was to the character "Mushmouth" from Fat Albert. But maybe I'm wrong.

I can touch my nose with my tongue. Just sayin'.

P.S. Giraffes are cool!

LOLing uncontrollably at "libbips" and "slubburp". Now I'm going to be repeating those words all day long. Thanks, Meg!

to whoever asked, yeah, a giraffe's tongue ranges from blue to black. although if you see it extended all the way the back end of it is pink.

 |  Jul 09, 2008 at 08:58 AM

1. I watched a lot of ZOOM as a kid. Don't make me sing the song.

2. I am, as the newspapers say, "unattached." Except to Bertha, of course (the cat, not the hurricane).
