Mrs. Gunderson Pauses to Reflect

"Oh, sure -- he just wanted to show me his etchings, he said.  It would only take a few minutes, he said.  *sigh...*  I was happy once; I had a career, I had my figure, I went to parties every night.  And now look at me."

At least the 'only a few minutes' part was honest, grr...

What can I say, Jill?   We men are all alike.

NTMTOM, your caption reminds me of an Eddie Izzard skit. Involving a treehouse, etchings, and "darjeeling or what?" Is that just a coincidence or do you know what I'm talking about?

I know, Erebella!
"Maid Marion, tea? Am I being too forward? And these are my etchingsss..."

She looks like she has one to spare. I shall take one off her hands and make it my own and it shall live with me and my parrot happily ever after. And the parrot will learn its name, and call to it incessantly all day long, much to the chagrin of the poor confoosed pup .... but I digress......

Mrs. *Gaunt*erson is more like it. Please administer Snausages, stat!

The mom has a sort of exhausted/dissapointed look. Like "One of these kids better darn well grow up to be a doctor... because if they ALL take after their father... I'm done"

Kit

Maybe you smart CO peeps can clear something up for me. Is it "Why-mah-rahr-ner" or "Why-mah-RYE-ner"? I've heard the second pron. used quite frequently, even though there's no "i" or "y" in the third syllable. Judges?

wagthedogma
 |  Jul 15, 2008 at 10:20 AM

She looks like one of those Southern belles fluffed down on the lawn with her hoop skirt around her .. anyway she does to me. Beautiful!! But yes... a mint julep or two, please, she looks like she needs one.
And .. @wagthedogma,I've only heard pron. # 1 "why-ma-rah-ner" but I'm no expert.

Mary (the first)
 |  Jul 15, 2008 at 10:50 AM

Feed the dog more. Now. Sheesh. She does look awfully thin to be nursing all of the "Babies of Weimeranernerer County.

And rah, rah, Wagthedogma! Rah.

Katrina
 |  Jul 15, 2008 at 11:10 AM

I think why-mah-rye-ner is the Anglicized version of it. Being a German word, it's probably really pronounced vy-mah-rah-ner. :)

Don't worry mommy doggeh, you still got it. It's all in the attitude, and the young bucks are very much into the BILFs. (It's a dirty acronym -- sorry, I'm a guy).

Next thing you know she'll stop wearing make-up, walk around all day in sweats, and give up on trying to lose that baby weight.

it looks like she is sitting in a puddle of her own puppies.

emma
 |  Jul 15, 2008 at 12:33 PM

so for the first time EVER i got to the wall first and posted a cheeky "FURST!" only to come back and find it removed...

not sure what's more depressing... having no evidence of FURST or seeing this puppeh mama being oh so sad! :(

This is our mama dog, Roxie. It is her first litter and THEY ARE SO FREAKING CUTE!! She had 10 babies - she went to visit the sketch artist 5X. She has a naughty side to her! The puppies are officially weaned today. Rox has so much more energy.
PS - She's nowhere near to skinny, nor has she ever been. She counter surfs too much to be on the lean side. I lost an entire roast once when I left the kitchen for a potty break.

Cindy
 |  Jul 15, 2008 at 01:12 PM

An ENTIRE roast? I bet she's not that gaunt anymore. I hope she still has her kitchen duties and isn't in the stockades to the right.

BTW Mike, "At least the 'only a few minutes' part was honest, grr" At least we're talking entire minutes here.

I died at the hovertext. Fell off my chair, hit my head on the desk, yelped, then resumed my laughing.

She isn't in the stockade in the right of the picture. She is my favorite dog. I can say that online because my other dog is old, has cataracts, and can't read. My weim is indoors dining on roast, like any other dog, right?

The babies go in the kennel 2 or 3 times a day to give mama a break. Everyone sleeps indoors at night.
And, yes, we put the babies in the doll clothes. That's the kind of thing that should be done over summer vacation, me, the three kids, the babies, and the clothes. We laughed until we cried.
Ugly mugs was for our Kauai pictures and the rest were added later. What can I say? I was referring to US, not the dogs!!

I'm so happy for you Cindy! What fun, and such a beautiful mama and babies to have in your life. :)Thanks for sending in the pics.

"We men are all like"? Is the webmaster of Cute Overload a guy??
O_O

[No, but the author of this post is. There's always a "Posted by" line at the bottom of each one that tells you who wrote it. Sometimes even *I* will do a post, like on a Friday afternoon, in which case it would say "Posted by Theo", and I'm definitely a guy... - Ed.]

[sarcasm]I am appalled - APPALLED! - that Cute Overload would stoop to posting such irresponsible FILTH! That B.I.T.C.H. has her n.i.p.p.l.e.s. EXPOSED! Children look at this site, sir! What next? Interspecies snorging? And the puppies! PUREBRED PUPPIES! A veritable MOUND of (gasp!) purebred puppies! It is wrong - WRONG, I say! - to allow dogs to breed in captivity. We must newter and spay ALL dogs and cats, until so-called "purebred" breeds peter out and disappear from the planet. You should be ashamed of yourselves![/sarcasm]

Someone had to do it.

That said, oh, to lie upon that grass and snorgle that pile o' velvet puppies!
