Thee's nothing like a good Princess Bride reference at the end of a Friday....
"mawahge. mawahge is what bwings us togevah twoday."
tee hee.
Huzzah!
It's RCF!!!!!
Brilliant use of The Impressive Clergyman quote :D
Nicely done, Theo! I feel like at the beginning there should be a voice saying "Previously, on Cute Overload!"
"Man and wife"! Say "man-and-wife"!
thank you. i SO needed this today.
Aahhhhaaaaahahahaha! Such a way to end a week. This will keep me sniggering for a while.
...man? And wife??
And now the Princess Bride reference makes sense to me. Kinda. As much sense as that movie ever makes, anyway. Not dissing Buttercup, I'm just saying.
Teho, u rok!
That bwessed awwangement...
"Did you say, 'I do'?"
"Well, we sort of skipped that part."
"If you didn't say it, you didn't do it! Isn't that right, Your Highness?"
Thanks, Theo, this was lovely. =)
Thanks so much Theo! And a big thanks to Meg, NTMTOM, and all the CO peeps. This was a steller week
Hehehehe! RCF is always awesome (with extra awesome sauce!!!)
I bet awesome sauce is a lot like pudding. Mmmm, pudding...
We used that line at our wedding two weeks ago...
cutest thing ever!
Your not going to pin this on me because I made the twoo wuv comment, are you? Because I've been up since 4 am and I'm not responsible for my actions. (Nor for lost or stolen articles. Close cover before striking. Void where prohibited. Do not make Princess Bride references if you are pregnant, nursing, or may become pregnant. Side effects may include outbreaks of corgis, a longing for marmie cats, and a sudden desire to talk in baby talk. Not available in all states.)
Congrats on the nuptials, Meghan!
P.S. New CO related post in my blog, just for fun.
These comments are too funny. 'Specially Decca.
Meghan I always wondered if people used the special Bwide Vows at their weddings!! Yay! Congrats.
A good friend of mine had the song from "TPB" sung at her wedding. I almost laughed out loud when it started. Unfortunately, the marriage has ended. They didn't have a "Fairy Tale Ending".
Oh and BTW, Congratulations Meghan! "In the history of kisses, this one was the most pure..."
And so fitting for Weawity Casuaw Fwiday. ;)
I'm not sure that cat on the antlers is in love. I think he's just feeling horny.
Thank you, thank you very much.
I laughed out loud at this, and I pretty much have TPB memorized. Who would diss it? It's genius...although, technically, the cat in the deer antlers would be practicing necrophilia, which has a high ick factor...
And here...after spending 2 days home sick with a cold..I watched TPB each day! (hey, blame TBS, then AMC) One of my fave movies, and this Friday post made me smile. Thank you!!
Annnnnnnd Friday it is.
Thanks Theo! Despite -- dare I say it in this crowd -- my dislike of the Princess Bride movie, I liked this post. Something about owls morphing into cats and then morphing into cats-n-dogs just makes my day.
Wobbles off, giggling at teh comments, espec Decca and Erebella. Well done!
Ahn.
Teho.. that was awesome. Great RCF and a great way to end the weel.
"You wuv me? ORYLY???"
I love the fact that this post appeared on the day of my parents' 60th (!) wedding anniversary. What a great card to send them.
Oh and Daphne Moss, what do you mean, "technically, the cat in the deer antlers would be practicing necrophilia, which has a high ick factor..." As we were reminded in a recent post, "Death cannot stop true love. All it can do is delay it a while."
(I don't know why that last comment says it was made by Rustin Wright. It was made by me, Janet.)
How did that cat get up there?
I am genuinely scared right now.
THEO FTW. I never thought I'd see Princess Bride references here, and this is more priceless because I watched that movie only 2 days ago! :D
Did you say "I do"?
"Well, then, you are not married."
(How can one NOT like "The Princess Bride" Morgat... Different strokes and all..yes, I am a PB Nerd....don't get me started.)
"My name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die".
Theo, this is great.
I'm reading the dream of the red chamber at the moment. Dreams of dreams in dreams are just up my alley, therefore.
omg, thank you for reminding me of princess bride!
Wuv no season knows or cwyme or hours months years which are the rags of time.
Is it appropriate to wish everyone a Happy Pride Weekend here?
Ah, what the heck. You can censor me, if you have to; I just can't hold it in, not after those pics!
HAPPY PRIDE EVERYONE!!! :)
Why not? Happy Pwide!
Oh I'm sure Inigo and Fezzik had a little SOMETHIN' hap'nin on the downlow.
I mean c'mON.
Kristen H -- are you kidding? Princess Bride is one of those references that always always ALWAYS shows up on blogs like CO. I think only Monty Python gets quoted more often. Yes, I enjoy it too, but for me it's honestly a bit like all the nonstop Top 40 stuff on the radio that you can't avoid.
It was Friday, though. I thought I'd indulge. ;)
I wonder if Rob Reiner is more proud of "Princess Bride" or "Spinal Tap." (He'd probably try to convince you he's most proud of "North").
I have been described as Reiner-esque. Not a bad compliment, although I do in fact encourage three year olds to ignore their teachers and chew tobacco.
My fav movie mentioned on my fav blog! Could this day get any better??
And, yes, Happy Pride Weekend. :-)
And Happy Bride Weekend, just for the heck of it. Celebrate one or both by kissing somebody you love.
Me, I'm gonna go snorgle eight kittehs.
Berthaservant...loved your blog post. Yep, you hit the nail on the head.
I'm not really sure at this point what I used to say in lieu of "ehn!" (very useful in the gym but disruptive in yoga class). I actually asked "Baroo???" in a meeting the other day. Eek.
My "No" has become "nyerhe!" or the more adamant "nyerhe! nyerhe! a thousand times nyerhe!" from a hovertext a while back.
And everyone I work with is now very aware of eye capsules (as well as the sounds they make), not to mention chubbulence, McAnythingPants, etc. etc. etc.
You CAN teach an old dog new tricks (and sound effects).
Ahng.
L O V E!
Hey-- it's Caturday. Post some fwiggin' cats. ;)
Love it! But I'd love just a picture of the two owlies....what a great photo!
I've never seen TPB. I guess I should huh?
Berthaservant- how many cats do you have at this point? Did you get your Marmie?
