Our cockatiel thinks that she's a dog - even "barks" when the dogs bark. The dogs basically ignore her - and they're terriers, so you'd kind of expect them to pounce...but no. Chill the heck out! That bird is not going to die if the cat drools on it. Get over yourself. Birds CAN mix with other species. I ought to know, I have three, and all of them are over 20 years old, have lived with dogs their entire lives, and haven't died of saliva.
