Not the best start to a rainy monday AM...I really want my bed now KTHNX!!
Why would a cat try to stay awake? Isn't sleeping their job?
Perfect day to crawl back in bed with a kitten.
That was like me trying to get out of bed this morning...*2 more minutes*
The stretch really was the best part.
Now I want a fuzzy kitteh to snuggle with.
I can stay awake...I can stay awake...I can stay awake...I can--ah screw it *snore*
But, mom, I wanna watch the end of the movie. I'm not tired at all. Pleeeaaazzzeeee. Can I???

That was me and my kits last night! Star Wars was on starting at 11 pm last night and I'm such a Star Wars geek that I stayed up to watch, with my furbabies on the couch with me. Around 12:30 they were pestering me to go to bed already and I kept shaking myself awake, trying SO HARD to make it through even though I had to be up at 6 am.

Ohhhh... so familiar - got my hubby fed and coffee'd this morning at 5am and tried sooooooooo hard to watch some silly History Channel thing with him but I kept doing exactly what this kitteh was doing until I passed out in the lazyboy!

Perhaps the kitty is trying to stay awake because it's his(her?) day off. We all know sleeping is a cat's job, so I reason that on a cat's day off something other than sleeping must be done.
I love the back leg toe-stretch! And the jaunty straight-out back leg... that kitty's up for some *serious* relaxin'.
How did this kittch know how I was feeling. I am totally having trouble staying awake on this rainy Monday.

The back foot stretch - someone here, on CO, calls that a "toe burst."
I think that's about the funniest thing I've ever read. Who wrote about "Toe Bursts?" It's so funny, it still makes me giggle!
I mean back "toe" stretch...
There are people like that on the 8:00 am bus. Bleary-eyed zombies nodding off. Sometimes there are people with their eyelids clamped shut with their mouths agape with a snore just itching to explode out.

I'm a teacher and I was watching this on my laptop just before my Year 12 English class. Some girls arrived early, heard the music, and clustered around to SQUEE.
After he stretched,it looked like he bowed his head to pray before lying completely down. So strange how watching a sleepy cat/kitten makes you feel so peaceful.
You can almost see the waves of gravity the sofa is emitting when the kitty is trying to stay upright. I could feel my own head getting heavier and heavier as I watched!
The stretch, eet ees good. But the paw curlage just after the final slump, eet ees better.
Wow, that paw tuck was like a very expensive dessert after a very decadent meal, and then learning that the whole meal is comped.
