Oh boy - this isn't going to be popular, but in my opinion the video is documenting an event that could quickly turn into an act of animal cruelty. Considering how many warnings are given to humans before they use a treadmill, cats on treadmills, especially with long fur, could go very, very wrong. The concept is cute, and I would have felt better if the owners had not so sharply increased the speed, but overall, I would encourage others to not recreate the stunt at home :/: Lydia; | May 10, 2008 at 01:55 PM

I laughed so hard when the calico gave up and plopped off the end... If that counted as cruelty, when the cats got on of their own accord, then it must be cruel to let a cat outside too. A treadmill isn't 'cruelty' any more than owning a rocking chair is cruelty. Sure you can rock over a cats tail, but usually do it once on accident, and they don't go near it again. These cats have obviously been around the treadmill for awhile and know not to stick their paws under it.
