Italian Greyhound! My sister has one, and they always have that worried look on their faces. They're sweet, but boy can they be neurotic.

I call shenanagins! His ear-to-head ratio has been artificially enhanced. (or can you just not see them?) Either way, I want to kiss him to make it better *mwah!*

These are very sweet dogs. A neighbor has two, and they are just delightful.

Theresa
 |  Jan 04, 2008 at 08:29 AM

PS, I should mention that they sleep in the most obSEEN posishuns.

Theresa

An IGGY! I'm owned by two and they have the sweetest faces and are the best snugglers!

LOOOOOOVE! Megan- I have a GS too. He is only active when there is a food motivation. Just like his mama. :)

Michele

this is the EXACT face my dog makes when I ask her if she wants to take a bath! She gets this shameful look that is way too adorable.

Is that an Italian Greyhound or a Whippet? I was thinking whippet given his proportions.

kar
 |  Jan 04, 2008 at 09:37 AM

Totally an IG.

:) I have a 14-year-old.

They are the sweetest, lovingest snuggliest doggies.

Bambi has dainty expressive eyebrow -- uh -- pants, too. :D

Awwwww...poor baby looks so wooooooreeeeeed!

Jacquie
 |  Jan 04, 2008 at 10:03 AM

the ears are pulled back severely to enhance the
concerned/worried look on her face she looks so delicate, like she needs a sweater and a hot water bottle. (and a hug)

liz
 |  Jan 04, 2008 at 10:18 AM

Greyhound/whippet/iggy noses = ripe for leeeerve.

They're so neurotic, bony, and redonk...my old, old greyhound just hid her head in my armpit to avoid hearing the storming weather outside.

Alison
 |  Jan 04, 2008 at 10:20 AM

She's very beautiful, I hope you IG people can reassure me that the thinness is normal for her? She looks so frail.. but maybe that's their normal size? (not wanting to be a nuff. I'm sure if this is not normal, it's the "before" of a dog who's been rescued and is now being fed.. if needed.)

Mary (the first)
 |  Jan 04, 2008 at 10:28 AM

actually she looks in incredible shape.
shes perfect for her breed.

liz
 |  Jan 04, 2008 at 10:33 AM

good.. thanks.. I should have known there would not be a sick dog posted.. she is truly gorgeous. And the "baroo" is classic!!

Mary (the first)
 |  Jan 04, 2008 at 10:35 AM

Mary, never fear--she looks like she's in great shape for her breed. Look at her shoulders and all the meat on them. Dogs of the greyhound variety always look that thin, but they're plenty strong. And she is a beauty!

oh calm down dearie
shes looks fiiiiiiiiiiine.

what a gorgeous dog!! i can tewtelly see that barroo.
you can just picture its little lips all like

I just thought of a new term.. similar to "muzzlepuff".. here it is:
BAROOBROWS !!
what do you think, peeps? a new term?? This little girl is the poster child of baroobrows!!

Mary (the first)
 |  Jan 04, 2008 at 10:53 AM

Awww italian greyhound! I love their worried little faces and their soft ears and their dainty lil feet!

GreenEyedHawk
 |  Jan 04, 2008 at 11:12 AM

As Felix and Oscar once said when Oscar won a greyhound and wants to race him:

Oscar: Look at him!
Felix: Ohhh, look at him....
Oscar: Look at those legs! (excited)
Felix: Look at those ribs! (sad)

Double-barrelled baroobrows!

And what the heck are "eyebrow pants?"

[Tsk... and you portray yourself as a knowledgeable pr0n fan! - Ed.]

I do love the look of shy eagerness in that dog. "I know you love me, but I could really use a little pat on the head right now."

vlohma
 |  Jan 04, 2008 at 11:54 AM

she's in a perpetual state of "baroo?"

Kiragirl
 |  Jan 04, 2008 at 12:14 PM

berthaslave-
i am also trying to figure out what "eyebrow pants" means. perhaps another COL reg. and clue us in??

liz
 |  Jan 04, 2008 at 12:33 PM

I'm pretty sure anything with "pants" is just a Meg-ism. Like "enhance pants" a couple of months ago, or like you might call someone "Miss Fussy Pants" or "Mr. Prissy Pants."

Or else, as Teho indicates, it's an obscure pr0n term (though it'd have to be pretty obscure for me to not have heard about it from my college students).

 |  Jan 04, 2008 at 12:38 PM

What a beautiful dog. Such an expressive face.

Michelle
 |  Jan 04, 2008 at 12:41 PM

is that like "egg pants"?

Kiragirl
 |  Jan 04, 2008 at 01:13 PM

She is beautiful, and I have heard they make wonderful pets, but I could NOT take the guilt trip that little face would give me every single day. Even if I had done absolutely nothing wrong (no baths, plenty of treats, all snow cleaned off sidewalk before walkies, etc.), I would still feel the horrible weight of her disappointment. I better stick with a dog that thinks everything I do is wonderful.

BerthaS -- just yankin ya chain. Ain't no thing.

No, I don't really talk that way either.

Theo

GreenEyedHawk,

You hit the nail on the head about the softness of the ears.

I think my Italian Greyhound's ears are my very favorite part of her. Sooooo soft.

Bambi makes that face when I ask her if she wants to wear her giraffe costume. :D

gillian
 |  Jan 04, 2008 at 07:23 PM

You know, she's right about the respective baroos.

That sweetie needs a trip to the spa and some aromatherapy to relax!!

Lisa--I'm with you, I'd need some kinda anti-anxiety pill to deal with that look! :D

An IGGIE! I haz one.

This is how they've supposed to look - fragile and delicate until you seem them run. They are the sweetest, most gentle dogs ever. Mine jumps into my arms when I come home and sits on my lap while I read.
