I like big nuts and I cannot lie

You other brothers can't deny [shimmies up tree]
That when a girl walks in with an itty bitty waist
And a round thing in your face
You get sprung [shimmies down tree]

OMG. Johanna S., look at her butt. It is so big. She looks like one of those rap guys' girlfriends.

Nice parallel going on with the squirrel's ears and the trees!

 |  Jan 04, 2008 at 06:22 AM

Erm... are we sure that's a girl? Seems like I see more than one nut in the pic.

 |  Jan 04, 2008 at 06:29 AM

Oh, this has the potential to get good. This should be an excellent start to a year of controversial posts/post titles....

 |  Jan 04, 2008 at 06:34 AM

ummm that's a guy sqweerl

 |  Jan 04, 2008 at 06:39 AM

Of course it's a guy sqwerl! That's who sings the song, sillies! (The part about her butt being big isn't about the squirrel.)

 |  Jan 04, 2008 at 06:42 AM

 |  Jan 04, 2008 at 06:43 AM

If that's a guy squirrel, I hope he doesn't like big nuts and cannot lie...

 |  Jan 04, 2008 at 06:43 AM

mumm, let me see a squirrel in a the eating a nut. say that real fast three times.heheheeheeee! told yeah!!

 |  Jan 04, 2008 at 06:43 AM

 |  Jan 04, 2008 at 07:00 AM

This is a perfect post to follow up the laughing seal. Granted, that seal will laugh at ANYTHING, but this is genuinely funny!

 |  Jan 04, 2008 at 07:02 AM

my skwerlies at home aren't that acrobatic.
course I don't have any trees that close together.
and they don't sing either.

 |  Jan 04, 2008 at 07:03 AM

actually i think he's doing the MC hammer shimmie.

 |  Jan 04, 2008 at 07:05 AM

gee scooter. ya cant even write it and you want us to say it three times fast huh?

is an adorable squirrel, so very athletic and nimble!!

 |  Jan 04, 2008 at 07:16 AM

You just have to ask yourself, what would possess him to want to sit in a tree like that? I suppose it's comfortable for him, but sheesh...

Nevertheless, I think he's tewtally anerable!!!

 |  Jan 04, 2008 at 07:19 AM

Wow, that's an amazing picture!

Holy Cuteness
 |  Jan 04, 2008 at 07:19 AM

LOL! Now I have an earworm!

What a sweet skwerl, too!! MMMMM I LURVE SKWERLS!!

 |  Jan 04, 2008 at 07:20 AM

It's the expression that gets me - the "oh, me? I just chillin'" look on his face. The entirely innocent look from a squirrel who thinks that position is normal. :)

 |  Jan 04, 2008 at 07:59 AM

lol bdwilcox... It took me a second to figure out *why* you were quoting that, but then I looked back up at the picture.

I have a baaad feeling about this! ;)

 |  Jan 04, 2008 at 08:08 AM

It looks like to me that's the only way to get his tail to curl the perfect way and that's why he's doin it. That's what I'm goin with. I can't wait to see the nuffs on this one. Here can I start?
MEG! SHAME ON YOU! I LET MY CHILDREN COME TO THIS SITE. This is sooooo not family oriented.

 |  Jan 04, 2008 at 08:09 AM

hahahah, I love the hovertext ... this squirrel is sooo pulling a Britney right now.

 |  Jan 04, 2008 at 08:19 AM

He just a sqwerl tryna get a nut, yo.

 |  Jan 04, 2008 at 08:38 AM

This squirrel is an excellent multitasker! He's having breakfast on the go.

 |  Jan 04, 2008 at 08:39 AM

This pic is hilarious for soooo many reasons!

 |  Jan 04, 2008 at 08:41 AM

I totally mis-saw this at first.

I thought his hands were like a big old handle-bar moustache on a disproportionately long skwerl face.

And that his back feet were his arms

And that where his tail meets his butt was his waist.

Look at it that way and it becomes rather a strange-looking skwerl indeed.

I'm glad I was mistaken.

 |  Jan 04, 2008 at 09:59 AM

Has it come to be that we EXPECT the nuffs? I don't really see the commentroversy with this photo...I mean, there was even a slight bit off doubt as to whether it was a boy or a girl squirrel. It's not like they're that obvious...

Or would the nuffs be outspoken against the use of the song? I kind of see that...but even though this blog is dedicated to cute cuddlies, I never looked it as a very family-friendly blog, since most of the commenters are adults.

 |  Jan 04, 2008 at 10:08 AM

** Er, making a change to note that I know most of the commenters are adults, I doubt a lot of parents would let their kids comment, considering some of the subject matter that crops up in the comments, but I thought it was never intended to be dedicated t be family friendly because sometimes cute + funny = non family friendly, as exampled by the cat photo posted just now.

 |  Jan 04, 2008 at 10:09 AM

That's hilarious. I wonder if he/she can actually "sit" there or if it was a short stop for balance or something. TOO much!!

 |  Jan 04, 2008 at 10:33 AM

Oh dear, that is so incredibly funny!!! I shouldn't be laughing this hard at work. Do you suppose he always eats that way??

 |  Jan 04, 2008 at 10:46 AM

Bdwilcox, very, very clever and funny!

 |  Jan 04, 2008 at 10:56 AM

Earworm! Augh!

(But, y'know, who understands those rap guys?)

 |  Jan 04, 2008 at 11:05 AM

UP Against the Tree & spread em!

 |  Jan 04, 2008 at 11:07 AM

Actually, the big-butt effect is from foreshortening.

bdwilcox and sharon wilson, ROFL!

I'm just glad that this picture proves there is no correlation between the size of one's tail and HELLO!

 |  Jan 04, 2008 at 11:35 AM

Another musical gem!!!! HI-larious!!!!

 |  Jan 04, 2008 at 11:37 AM
