I think Kittehs like to do this because they can feel the container all the way around them... Even on the backs of their fuzzah backside... That way they feel safe... Kinda like we humans do with our blankies... Remember how when you were little, the boogy man couldn't get you, as long as you had your blankie all the way around you? Same thing as these Kittehs... Kitties and people, and I'm sure many other species, do this for comfort, because it reminds us of being in the womb. When newborn babies are crying, you bind them up real tight, and they immediatly feel relaxed and safe.
