I don't know if I would prescribe that kitty picture to patients, but I would definitely prescribe CO over a wildlife show as the article suggests. Wildlife programs can be pretty scary.
I actually have animal pictures all over my office and even a few from this site on a bulletin board.
Animals are definitely healing. This is just anecdotal, but I am pretty sure one of my rabbits cured my hiccups once. They were the painful kind that seem like they will never go away. I was getting really frustrated so I put my face against his side and took a deep breath and my hiccups stopped instantly (is this huffing?).

Hee Hee Hee! Huffing the bun!!! I'm gonna try huffing my wahwah!!!

bugmom
 |  Sep 25, 2007 at 12:07 PM

I get high by "huffing" my cat ALL the time.

Deep inhalations...

Only 3 more hours 'til I get to see him and have a snuffle.

I was just thinking about this fact, and how daylight savings time will be ending soon, and I hope there will be cuteness posted more often to get me through the depressing winter!

I wonder if I can get my doctor to prescribe a visit a day to CO.
For my health of Course!

Oho Pyrit! Laughing here. I recommend the comments section of CO as being great for strengthening the laff muscles...

Yitzy Thanks for pointing out Pyrits post. I read right over that. Went back to take a second Look.
Pyrit. LOL. Clever Girl.

My new goal in life is to see CO mentioned on Grey's Anatomy.

Like the guy who had to watch "Naughty Nurses" to relieve his pain in that one episode...

I could see them working it into a story line, no? Some poor girl (played by me, preferably) spending hours viewing cuteness to ease some sort of physical pain (after a neuro consult with Dr. Shepard, that is...).

"Dear Shonda Rhimes..."

 |  Sep 25, 2007 at 02:23 PM

Yes, I'll admit, the Colbert Report trumps the Grey's Anatomy dream in coolness. I understand where you're coming from, Theo. *sigh*

But my Grey's Anatomy dream involves me being a character/actor on the show - nothing wrong with selfish dreams. ;)

I'd love to see what Stephen Colbert would do about CO...

OK - When is Cute Overload going to produce a daily calender (you know, the kind that's a cube with tear off pages)with all our favorite pictures/captions from the previous year??? That would be very healthy. I'd buy several!

I also recommend CO on my website (geared towards healthy aging). http://www.doctorgwinn.net CO helps people have positive, happy thoughts: and we can all use more of those, at any age! I enjoy your site and visit daily. Keep up the good work! Perhaps you never realized you were also in the healthcare field, too! Dr. Kat

Shyeah. Tell us something we didn't know. Cute is good for you. Duh.

I started a new and very stressful activity yesterday. Then I came home and made a fake one of those "Motivation" posters. This one is a picture of one of my kitties with "Don't Panic" under it. I am planning to keep my Don't Panic Kitty handy for quick cute fixes. (I won't be able to go to CO during that activity.)

Ya-a-a-a-a-ay docs! CO is one of the major things that's getting me through a rough if-I-didn't-laugh-I'd-cry patch these daze.......

That's why I'm here RIGHT NOW. I always save up C.O. and then when I'm feeling depressed or stressed I get to catch up and see lots at once. It helps immensely.
