Bedtime story? I got yer bedtime story

Dr. Seuss is sooooo great, kids, but you know what would really put you to sleep?

A little Tolstoy, heh heh. Let me introduce you to my leetle friend War and Peace.

Is it, could it, would it be? My favorite Dr. Seuss book, is that what I see?

One fish, two fish, red fish, blue fish. This one has a little car and this one has a little star!

Puppersons has great taste in books! Aside from Tolstoy that is...kids..watch the Audrey Hepburn/Henry Fonda version!

Looks like a puppy librarian to me. Even the over the glasses "you kids had better shut up" look.

That poor dog looks like he has been reading stories for a long time. Poor doggie.

War and Peace is hard going, sure... but if you want to put the kids to sleep, my recommendation is classical music.

Not the 1812 Overture, though. Yes, the name "Tchaikovsky" might sorta sound like "Tolstoy" a little, but it's not enough.

Yes, that's a children's librarian who's been reading to LOTS of kids' groups and is going to go mental if s/he has to read that book one more time today...

Isn't it "The Foot Book," that he's reading, Suzanne?

"Bartholomew and the Oobleck" was my favorite Seuss book.

And when my older sister was tiny, she liked to read "Don't Jump on Daddy" (aka "Hop on Pop).

Now I'm not sure where it is but there are programs where kids read to dogs. I believe the dog comes into a school and sits with the kids while they read outloud...
Something like that and the kids really like it and so does the dog but I don't remember the details....
