This might shut down CuteCast...

CuteCast is doomed. In fact; "My First Broccoli" might just take down the whole InterNets. The muzzle pouche! THE FEET! THE HAMSTER ON BROCCOLI ACTION!

For crying out loud Mocha and Cadencestar—that's some seriously potent shizz.

Broccoli makes his feets go! I understand how that feels. Except with me it's dark chocolate.

 |  Mar 26, 2007 at 12:42 AM

Wow! That is some sttthhhherious leggie action. A lifelong love affair with broccoli begins!

 |  Mar 26, 2007 at 12:44 AM

Oh. My. Goodness.

He's all feetsees and cheeksees!!

 |  Mar 26, 2007 at 12:44 AM

What gets me, even more than the flying feetsies, is the fact that his head is bigger than the rest of him (including the feetsies).

 |  Mar 26, 2007 at 12:52 AM

So teeny! I love the "dancing".

 |  Mar 26, 2007 at 12:53 AM

The feeets I must have more of the feeets! Thanks for making me smile during a 4:00 am athzma treatment!

 |  Mar 26, 2007 at 01:32 AM

I'm with my sister up thread, Evangeline's Mommy.

Luscious broccoli. Babette's Feast, broccoli. Sensual pleasure with broccoli (um . . . .) Did you note that mostly he ate it backwards, with the tree trunk first, and the leaves last?

And those long tiny bony fingers--like JK Rowling's dementor's fingers, or something out of Tolkein. But the feets! They couldn't have spazzed more if it had been a bottle of hammy milk, or a hammy chocolate malted!

 |  Mar 26, 2007 at 01:36 AM

I love mocha's feet action, yes it made me smile. I see like me he doesn't like the stalk. :o}

 |  Mar 26, 2007 at 02:29 AM

the feets have slain me.

 |  Mar 26, 2007 at 02:36 AM

I'm always amazed when I see someone take real joy out of eating broccoli. But it's healthy, so I'm glad. Find the flava in that riboflavin, little guy.

 |  Mar 26, 2007 at 03:06 AM

 |  Mar 26, 2007 at 03:21 AM

 |  Mar 26, 2007 at 03:55 AM

Yummyummyummy...feet-flailin' fiiiiine food!!

Makes me want a hammie. Probably not a great idea in a household with five doggies and four kitties, though-I have enough trouble keeping my fishpond babies safe from this rowdy crowd!

 |  Mar 26, 2007 at 04:25 AM

God, hamsters disgust me. I really can't find this cute, it makes me nauseous.

 |  Mar 26, 2007 at 05:03 AM

Funny blondie, people have said the exact same thing about you!

 |  Mar 26, 2007 at 05:12 AM

WoW! Just WoW!!!

 |  Mar 26, 2007 at 05:24 AM

meg, mocha, and cadencestar, i thank you from the bottom of my heart. seriously. i'll be sending a bunch of brocolli as a thank-you gift.

 |  Mar 26, 2007 at 05:32 AM

I loves me some broccoli too - but have never seen my feet do that when I eat it. I'll have to pay more attention to them next time.

That was seriously cute.

 |  Mar 26, 2007 at 05:39 AM

Oh he's like a tiny, nibbling bobble-head of cute! So anerable!!

 |  Mar 26, 2007 at 05:39 AM

Aubrey - i know how you feel. i haaaate broccoli, but when i give it to my ratties, they seem so happy munching. they're all "cruciferous veggies help us play!"

is there any chance this is a gerbil? it really looks like a gerbil to me...

 |  Mar 26, 2007 at 05:42 AM

Does broccoli make hammies gassy? What happens to hammies when they do get gassy? Now I'm wondering....

 |  Mar 26, 2007 at 05:58 AM

Best video EVER!!!

 |  Mar 26, 2007 at 06:07 AM

Well that hammie sure was cuuuute but what I loved more was the music!! What song was that? I want it! Just gotta love music boxes...

 |  Mar 26, 2007 at 06:08 AM

Damn...and I thought my DAD's legs were skinny... :) I agree. We'll probably be finding out in short order that the internet has just stopped, the first official cute overload ever.

 |  Mar 26, 2007 at 06:18 AM

I just spent fourteen hours on my feets taking care of a bebeh on cardiopulmonary bypass waiting for a heart transplant, and I left work cry-ingk, because my days off this week are going to be spent with my parents and terminally ill grandfather, and frankly I'd rather be working if it meant that wasn't happening.

But this? This got a smile. This got several minutes of smiles. Thanks, meg (or teho).

 |  Mar 26, 2007 at 06:31 AM

someone please let me know what song / music that is.

 |  Mar 26, 2007 at 06:32 AM

I love hamsters. I kept them in my classroom (highschool)for over 30 years and it was always very difficult to pull both myself and my students away from their antics. Especially when there were babies!

 |  Mar 26, 2007 at 06:34 AM

I'm gonna do my
bro-bro-bro-bro-broccoli chews
And boogie with you!

Damn fine post. :)

 |  Mar 26, 2007 at 06:37 AM

I'm proposing a new category! :)

Can we pleasepleaseplease have a category just for cute videos? That way, when we need our animated cute fix, it's all in one place!

That was also so ridiculously adorable, my head exploded. I wish my hammies would sit on their butts and eat food out of my hand!

 |  Mar 26, 2007 at 06:54 AM

Laura-K, there *is* CuteCast... http://cutecast.ning.com/

 |  Mar 26, 2007 at 07:10 AM

It's pouring rain and thunderboomers in Toronto today, it's wet, windy and just plain icky (extra wet because the rain is melting the last of the snow and ice). I woke up late, got to work 45 minutes, my hair has this weird kink in the back, the rainwater was leaking through the window of the streetcar and onto my pants, the person who sat next to me from Brock to Yonge needed a hardcore bath.

Then I logged in, surfed to CO, and found THIS. Perfectly, totally, absolutely ANERABLE! Perfection in a hand! I had tears peeps...TEARS (which kinda wrecked my makeup, but it was worth it). Those wee feeeties! ACK!!! And did anyone notice the little squninty with pleasure eyes? I am teh ded.

Let's send this to the Iranian government. Betcha that would chill them out.

 |  Mar 26, 2007 at 07:30 AM

omg i died.
its monday, didnt even get to work before i saw this clip. now i have to call in dead.
cause of death: toxic cuteness overdose/death by hampster.

 |  Mar 26, 2007 at 07:50 AM

OMG Where did Mocha put all that Broccoli!

Elizabell - Hang in there

 |  Mar 26, 2007 at 07:51 AM

SQUEEE - I'm with jen, I saw this while still at home and I am also calling in dead from a head splosion.
Teri - great idea! Even Ahmadinejhad (I KNOW I misspelt it but ya'll KNOW who I mean) would squee and grin at this video! Perhaps he would then let go of the British marines & sailors (I hope, I pray).
Let's hear it for Hammies & Broccoli and World Peace!

 |  Mar 26, 2007 at 08:02 AM

No one can resist the power of Teh Qte! (especially when it's a wee hamster wriggling his feeties in joy over a bit of broccoli)
