"It starts out as sort of a gang-snorgle...

...and ends up with a happily monosnorglous snorgle."

OK, that caption was TOO DAMN FUNNY not to include.

Way to go, Submitter Evan-Monkey-Treats.

i can't believe how calm that cat was with all the dogs gang snorgling the sweet kitteh. What a great entry. I hope someone will tell us what the announcer is saying. It sounds like the same announcer from the kittch and Rooster clip that was up a while ago.

Anyone else think that last guy looks like Rupert G. from the Hello Deli?

J. Bo
 |  Aug 26, 2006 at 02:26 PM

The cat's name is "Ponta" and he is the movie star (idol) of the local dog cafe!

The announcer is just basically saying that the cat loves to hang out with the dogs at the dog cafe, and that the white dog (Satsuki) is Ponta's special friend. The owner said, "When Ponta comes in, Satsuki is sweet and very gentle." The grooming is so cute my heart actually hurts! :)

(Hah! I knew that minor in Japanese was worth something!)

Thanks, Caroline! I was wondering what they said too.

Lovely, lovely video. :)

That white doggie looks to be an experienced pooch masseuse. That kit knows what's what, I'll tell you what.

Caroline:
"my heart actually hurts" I was going to say something similar re: two/too bootiful white kittehs - but they're gone! Wha' happened?

Aubrey
 |  Aug 26, 2006 at 03:24 PM

g-lo! ROFLMAOBBQ.

Cat didn't seem to mind the licking much. His (her?) tushy was doing "butt goes up" at the end there with pal Satsuki.

I feel that most Japanese female announcers sound pretty much like that, or higher (yeah, believe it) and more breathy. Kind of like here in America where you get the choice between dignified, well-spoken older women newscaster vs. vapid, fast-talking vee-jay.

Are those our only choices????

Lol, Sarcasta! KHHHAAAN....yeah.

My sisterinlaw is Japanese and we have been practicing saying "Kawaaaiiiiiiii" all week. She said the teenage girls over there really shriek it out!

Thanks, Caroline, for the translation.

And, ditto, what a completely COOL cat! And what beautiful markings.

Aubrey,
I don't know what happened to the purrfect Mama and Baby fairy kittens. Something about it being from stuffonmycat.com and therefore off limits to all others.
Meh.
I guess that means I have to start slurfing around other websites...and I already spend enough quality time on this one.

OMG what did they do, dip the cat in peanut butter first???
That was hilarious!
I swore I heard the lady say "American shorthair" at the beginning?

ceebs
 |  Aug 26, 2006 at 04:12 PM

The person who mentioned the female Japanese announcer, she's speaking AS the kitty.

When Satsuki is licking Ponta's head, the announcer, as Ponta, says "Aahh, Kimochi na!" Which basically means "Oh that feels so good!"

Claire
 |  Aug 26, 2006 at 04:23 PM

Ceebs: You did hear American Shorthair, when Ponta was introducing herself. She gave her breed first. Heheh

Sorry, Arbed, I misunderstood about stuffaboutmycats.com.

Didn't mean to say anything negative about them. Or anyone. Or anything. Peace to all.

Except mosquitoes and wasps.

Lauri - didn't take it the wrong way and hopefully I didn't sound snarky. I should have pointed out that someone had mentioned the pic came from deviantart.com, although I don't remember the photog's name.... suejoe or something like that. She linked to her own website through deviantart. Just tried searching quickly, but couldn't remember enough to find it.

From the Pet Rock-er of the 1970's, Jerry Lee Mew-is:

"You shake my spine and you snorgle my ears
Too much attention can drive a cat to fear
You present your bill, but what a thrill
Goodness, gracious, great paws for hire
I laughed at your prices - I thought they was funny
You came along and chewed me honey
I've changed my mind, massage is fine
Goodness, gracious, great paws for hire
Kronshe me baby, woo feels good
Snorg me baby, you gotta snorg me like a MAS-suese should
You're fine,
For A
Canine
I want to tell the world that your mine mine mine mine
You chew my tail and I sharpened my claws
I'm real nervous, but it gives me pause
Come on baby, drive me crazy
Goodness, gracious, great paws for hire!"

I 100% heart this video and the kawaii-mad Japanese. I also heart how they breezily Nipponify the English words, so that at first it actually sounds Japanese: "Amerikan-u Sho-tu-har". Squeee! Our Siamese snorgles our greyhounds like this all the time. The hounds don't really snorgle back, though. They merely tolerate his attentions with a bemused and dignified expression.

Where did the marmosets go? I want them back, and the mommy with her purrfect white baby!!!

Now this is obviously one popular feline creature. I do however think that I might be happier if I actually knew what the Japanese guy on the video says. Why are all those dogs licking the cat? Does he/she taste of bones?

Ponta is a 1 year old cat.

Family mom: My Ponta really is an idol!
Announcer: I wonder what kind of idol?
(Cat tries opening the door.)
Announcer voicing cat's thoughts: I want to hurry up and go!
Family mom: Let's go! To the Dog Cafe!
(All the dogs are sleepy and bored.)
(Cat enters cafe and all dogs are suddenly attentive)
The cat is an idol!
Family mom: Ponta loves it! Mom telling the dogs "Lick Ponta! She really loves it!"
Ponta loves Satsuki, the white dog. They are best friends.

"Kawaiiieeee!"

Miss Megumi Kitty watched this with me,& meowed with Ponta when Ponta was meowing at the door.

Some apprehension with seeing the dogs at first, and then Megumi seeing all the snorgling started purring. Satsuki snorgling Ponta got LOUD purring. Now I think Megumi wants a pet dog!

Well that settles the debate, cats rule dogs drool;) Even dogs know the joys to be had at a good snorgle-fest.

So, I started out thinking, "What was that cat rolling in?" Then, my inner voice (sometimes it's an outie) provided the commentary for the kitty, who's like, "Juuuust a little to the right. Yea, RIGHT there." And now, I'm wondering what the heck the premise of the video was (other than inter-racial lubbin').

Now that I've typed in my comments, I can go back and read the other comments and hopefully, find out!
