Armchair veterinarian

This guy's squished muzzlepuff forced his tongue out. Tough when that happens; not enough room inside the muzzle for his tongue.

Give him a scratch between the eyes on that soft patch for us, Brenda!

I actually think your "diagnosis" is right. My black pug's tongue used to come out like that sometimes. I really wouldn't be surprised if it IS a side-effect of the squished-in face. That soft path between the eyes is heavenly to scratch (they thing so, too). On the fawn ones, the wrinkles in that area make something that, according to some books I've read, approximates the Chinese character for "king." (Appropriate, I think.) to chacha---and any others---this is a puppy. the good news is, ANY pug's face will fit in the palm of your hand. and then manual snorgelage is de rigeur. That's right, just smoosh that flat face and feel the soft muzzlepuffage.
