Duck 'Tocks

You should really scoop up this little guy, and put him close to your neck, and see what he has to say.

Right, Stephanie F.? I think ducks might be able to purr a little bit...

I don't know what is more disturbing about this photo...the lack of a head or the steroidal Barry Bonds legs...

 |  Jul 13, 2006 at 02:00 PM

Haha, I want to goose him!

 |  Jul 13, 2006 at 02:08 PM

Booty booty booty booty rockin' everywhere.

Rather, quackin' everywhere!

Fluffy little ducky a'int he!?

 |  Jul 13, 2006 at 02:09 PM

He looks like he's make out of velour and playdo. Like maybe a walking cottonball...now that I look at it, the legs are bit...ummm, ENHANCHED.

 |  Jul 13, 2006 at 02:10 PM

Lemme see ya shake a tail feathah.

 |  Jul 13, 2006 at 02:11 PM

And I luv it when they duck their heads under the water and they put the feathery butts and feets up in the air...

 |  Jul 13, 2006 at 02:11 PM

The perspective *is* really odd!

I...like big butts and I cannot fly (because my wing feathers haven't grown in yet.)

 |  Jul 13, 2006 at 02:12 PM

I see no 'tocks, personally. Just fuzz. Fuzz and fuzz and fuzz.

 |  Jul 13, 2006 at 02:12 PM

LOL Redzilla.
You other duckies can't deny...

 |  Jul 13, 2006 at 02:17 PM

He looks like he's on a mission. A very determined fluffduck.

 |  Jul 13, 2006 at 02:20 PM

 |  Jul 13, 2006 at 02:45 PM

 |  Jul 13, 2006 at 02:58 PM

Oh Law. That is too dang cute.

 |  Jul 13, 2006 at 03:03 PM

has that fuzzbutt had calf implants? rubber-enhanced ducky, you're the one!

 |  Jul 13, 2006 at 03:05 PM

I once rescued six of these fluffer nutters from the beach in Long Beach, CA, just after Easter. (Some nutball thought they could swim in salt water and 'set them free.) Trust me, they don't purr -- they stick their heads under your chin, and tap it with their little beaks, and make the most adorable little clicks!

 |  Jul 13, 2006 at 03:10 PM

Looks like a tyranosaurus rex from behind, except for the tail of course. =)

 |  Jul 13, 2006 at 03:13 PM

 |  Jul 13, 2006 at 03:43 PM

I just keep hearing the song: "These boots are made for walkin'" while picturing this lil' guy struttin' his stuff!

 |  Jul 13, 2006 at 04:30 PM

Butt butt butt!

 |  Jul 13, 2006 at 05:29 PM

Down in the Duck-tocks

People don't you frown, cuz that's the kind of down

I feel so much better about the extra weight on my legs now.

 |  Jul 13, 2006 at 06:26 PM

Fuzzy ducky bum!
(yeah, I definitely feel better about my heavy calves too!)

 |  Jul 13, 2006 at 08:33 PM

My son and I have a brilliant time photographing duck butts. I am sure it disturbs the zen-seeking Japanese Garden visitors when we squeal "DUCK BUTT!" with delight and begin snapping madly....

 |  Jul 13, 2006 at 08:58 PM

The thing I like best about duckbutt is how it seems to be a separate bit, perhaps a ball-in-socket sort of thing, which can be wiggled all around. Ever noticed that?

 |  Jul 13, 2006 at 10:02 PM

My goodness, cute butt! But what's with the massive calves!? This duckenegger is ready to win the Tour de France people!!

 |  Jul 14, 2006 at 12:54 AM

(I know it's been written repeatedly before, but I just can't help myself...)

Disco Duck??!!??

 |  Jul 14, 2006 at 05:10 AM

You know you've got cuteness when a shot of your bum creates "Awwwwws" world-wide! Love this pic!!!

PS: Fois gras is cruel, so stop eating it!

 |  Jul 14, 2006 at 06:38 AM

Alma -- fois gras is expensive and disgusting, unless you're James Bond, maybe... so, no sweat. (Isn't it *goose* liver, tho?)

 |  Jul 14, 2006 at 08:31 AM

So, fellas! (Yeah!) Fellas! (Yeah!)
Has your ducky got the butt? (Hell yeah!)
Tell 'em to shake it! (Shake it!)
Shake it! (Shake it!)
Shake that ducky butt!
Ducky got back!

Oh my God Becky that butt is like so cute!!!...

 |  Jul 14, 2006 at 09:34 AM

Kasia: I also thought of Lance, especially with the yellow jersey.

Theo: Mmmm...proper foie gras is indeed from goose. Otherwise it's just plain ol' duck liver.
Expensive? Oh yes. Disgusting? Blasphemy! Seared with some port jelly... heavenly.
As for cruel... sigh. It
is sometimes hard to reconcile being both a zoophile and a gastronome. Now pass the ortolans.

 |  Jul 14, 2006 at 09:50 AM

"hard to reconcile being both a zoophile and a gastronome"

Another fuzzy foodie. I hear you. How 'bout we skip the finches & hunt us up some morels? (and oyster mushrooms, and sulfur shelves...)

 |  Jul 14, 2006 at 11:00 AM

Ooo dat be a ducky deriere!
Cutest Butt quack I ever saw!

(Isn't it *goose* liver, tho?)

No difference, putting a tube down any animal's throat and forcing unnatural amounts of food into it to 'fatten the liver' is cruel.

Google is your friend.

No need to eat fois gras, so DON'T! :0

 |  Jul 17, 2006 at 09:10 PM

I credit the cameraman for this one!

 |  Aug 11, 2006 at 12:30 PM
