I would like that picture on one of those cheesy motivational posters, with "FUTILITY" in large type beneath it.

"You are just a hamster in a wheel. And the wheel is too big for you anyway."

Hmm, maybe this photo was taken from above, and baby hammie is actually in a translucent orange bundt cake pan, having just eaten the whole thing. Explains why he's so drowsy.

OhMyGosh - this *IS* a cute photo but you all *HAVE* to go see the REST of them on sharon918 flickr photo stream - there are 270 photos in the set, about 262 of them are drop dead cute!! ..and in IMHO higher up the cute quotiant than this one!

I spend WAY too much time on this site... and now I just spent over an hour looking at all 270 of the other baby hammie photos that sharon918 has uploaded to flickr.

If I didn't have 2 Norwich Terriers (who would not rest until their 'job' was done) I would fly up to CT and get one of those cuties RIGHT now!

It's a little-known fact that most of our electrical power is generated by the valiant wheel-turning of little hammies like this one. So think of that next time you flip a light switch!

Dustbunny
 |  Mar 11, 2006 at 07:23 AM

I've been walkin' on the wheel-road, all the live long day . . .

"Oh the wheel in the sky keeps on turnin'...don't know where I'll be tomorrow..." Steve Perry and Journey.

Cute. Luv it!

Jan Spencer
 |  Mar 11, 2006 at 01:01 PM

Oh if we're gonna keep on with the wheel lyrics, how about Earth, Wind & Fire? Old school!

"What goes up
"Must come down
"Spinnin wheel
"Got to go round..."

Theo
 |  Mar 11, 2006 at 01:46 PM

This is what happens when BAD baby hamsters die and go to Hell. Seriously, I think that all dictionaries should henceforth use this picture to illustrate the adjective "sisyphean."

Hey Theo, Blood Sweat & Tears actually did "Spinning Wheel", not EW&F. I'm old school enough to remember that : )

Dustbunny
 |  Mar 11, 2006 at 09:30 PM

Dustbunny -- Oops, Duh, and Right.
Sigh.

How about "The wheels on the bus go round and round..." I think that's about my speed right now...

Theo

He looks like he's going to fall asleep any moment. Little furry bundle of LOVE.
