Janet's felted bag

As part of our current casual bag knit along Janet has been working on a feltted tote similar to the Lucy or Misty bag. She sent us these pictures today of her progress...

Here is the bag pre-felting

and here is is shaping & drying. Janet say's the bottom & body shrank to about 1/3 their size but the straps didn't shrink as much....may go in for a second felt. She used Nature Wool for this bag.

Our final bag for bag knit along will be a felted bag.  Janet who has knit many a felted bag in the last year will be the leader/helper for this one.  She is planning on doing the Lucy Bag which if pictured here.  The pattern is available through Lion Brand and also Blackberry Ridge at this time.  Janet will also be able to give advice an yarn choices and the felting process whether you choose this pattern or another.  Remember the bag knit along starts at the end of March so start planning now!

Now I'm thinking I want to do this one too!

Yarn for self-lined bag

So,I picked out my yarn for the self-lined bag for the next knit along.  Its Nashua Julia in chocolate brown..yummy.  As you can see no stripes for me.  If you choose to do this bag with us some yarn substitutes I would suggest are Nashua Julia (tons of colors) and Debbie Bliss Cashmerino Aran or Merino Aran.  You need a total of 308 yards.  Now I just need to find a fabulous pink button.

Knit Along Bag #2

I will be knitting this cute clutch purse for the bag Knit Along.  It is called Clementine and can be found in 25 Bags To Knit.  I will have some copies of the pattern available for anyone who is interested.

So our next knit along is going to be bags.  The offical start date is Monday 3/27 but feel free to dive in.  I will be knitting this little bag that was in the last Lion Brand email blast (though I will be doing different colors & yarn) & be the leader/helper for it.

Gabbi will be doing a bag from 25 Bags to Knit & will post which one this weekend.  She will be the leader/helper for that pattern.

We will hopefully have one other bag as part of the knit along with one other leader/helper which we'll post as soon as we get the ok.

Yea! Our window is up.  Its very Suessical.  I was getting lots of attention from the neighborhood kids while I was setting it up.  Thanks everyone for all your hard work.

Toy knit along
